Aye, the 'tic will be rolling in it for the next few years and should see some much better players arrive at Parkhead than what was on show last night. But what good will it do them?

Winning the treble in Scottish football hardly competes with getting a berth in the CL final (or even the semis) does it?

No matter how many 'superstars' Lennon can convince his board to buy, they still have to earn their bread and butter in the SPL against the likes of Dundee Utd, Aberdeen and Hibs. And nobody (in their right mind) could argue that those teams will provide the edge Celtic will need to compete with the big boys.

Lennon's team are good for many, many trophies for some years to come but is winning those local trophies the height of their ambitions? What good is all the money in the world if there is no feeling of real achievement at the end of it?

When Celtic beat Rangers in a Cup Final or the 'Ger's pipped their bitter rivals to become League Champions, it meant something, the end result of a worthwhile contest but simply to fill the club's coffers with little in the way of meaningful competition rather defeats the purpose don't you think?

But then again, 'dosh' is what football is all about these days, so perhaps I've got it all wrong eh?
