Ok it has been 2 games but hopefully you lot are just starting to see why I was going like a mad man for 2 years for Billy to come back!
The guy just brings back the passion back into Nottingham Forest. The team played Super tonight 6-1 is our best score by 2 all season, and even though we drew on Saturday we played great then as well, and the guy has only been in the job for 8 days!
Billy is starting to bring the pride back into this club, he is getting the players to start to work towards their potential and he is uniting this club again with the City Ground just starting to get back to its old self again, and I don't mean with results but i mean with the atmosphere and the pride of the fans back.
20 months hopefully of nightmares over with.
The King is back!!!!!
Come on you Reds!!!
Billy Davies' Red Army!!!!!

He only had control of the academy for 3 days!
At least this time they are giving him a lot more control over the academy and that is why Gary Brazil was promoted!
Yes JP went and maybe it was to do with BD this time around but not everyone gets on with everyone in the real world and if BD working with GB at the academy is going to produce the best results then all the better!
Remember BD was the last manager since PH to give introductions to most of the youth players?

I'm really not sure about this Billy ruined the youth system stuff. I'm not saying he's a manager that spends a lot of his time on youth, but there are plenty like that. MON springs to mind. They take the attitude, give me a good enough player and ill play him, but that's your job. I'm happy enough with that.
The story according to some seems to go, Billy said scrap the academy, ND said yes. That's it.
No one ever seems to say what Billy would gain from this or why ND, having invested millions in something he obviously believed in would just say ok.
Sounds very odd.

I just think he didn't like to get involved, which might be part of the reason that the likes of McLeary didn't flourish. Again, I hope I'm wrong. If proved wrong it would take away one of my major problems with the man.

You can say McLeary but then say McGugan and Majewski back.

Different matter though isn't it - McGugan was getting games and looking decent at times before Billy. Majewski was a signing, bought for the first time, who, if I'm honest, is still yet to convince me consistently at any time. Quality in flashes, below average a lot of the time - and yes, I'm including under Billy.
But McLeary was a young player, bought in to be developed, and left to fester. He then proved his class when given a chance. It's a one off, I know, but I struggle to think of a decent young player who came through in the Billy era - and there were a lot before then.
As I said above, I may be wrong in blaming him. I hope I am.

team, not time

There used to be an almost collective groan around here when McCleary was picked, he was in and out of the team andwe were doing well without him. He was also in and out of the team under CC, SM and SC. He had a really good run for a couple of months towards the end of last season and let's face it how many of us saw that coming. Had he stayed he could have been brilliant again or gone back to playing decent in patches.

I will admit there is a slight bitter taste with how McLeary left. He basically played well for 4 months for the first time and then went at the first opportunity he had.

But, at times when he did play under Billy, like that game against Leeds when he came on as a sub, he looked class. Players can only show how good they can be when given a chance, which is exactly what happened with McLeary. I don't blame him for leaving how he did - he wasn't given enough of a chance at Forest.
