So, with the news that Glasgow City are looking to move to the English Women's League, how does that affect both Rangers & Celtic?
Basically, it is identical.
Both men & women's games are under the same governing bodies (UEFA & FIFA), both of whose permission would be required.
Giving permission to Glasgow City then not to Rangers or Celtic would be immediately challengeable in court, and TBH, I think it is getting to the stage that UEFA for one are thinking that "is it really worth it" in their opposition.
So, IF Glasgow City move to English league, who would be next? Rangers or Celtic?
Yes, THAT old chestnut again....

Green would still complain, he would want into the premiership on with a four point lead at the top and one game to go.

To be honest, if it goes to court, then I cant see how Uefa/Fifa can win.
Not allowing us breaks the law.
Would be no different from an English Shopping Center not allowing a shop from a Scottish company to open up, stating they only allow English brands.
Just because its football, it does not have different laws.

Not too sure on that Mitre as the pro argument seems to be based on an argument that we would be restricted to operating in a market being UK football.
From my limited experience of competition law a counter argument would be that Scotland and England are defined separate markets and as such we are not restricted.

Courts and gaining the right to move is one thing. Surely even if UEFA and FIFA say you can move to the English league the teams in England plus the FA and EPL would still have the final say if they want to invite any other clubs in to their system. do they really want or need another club taking a bite out of money pie they have right now.

Arab - you have to think that the teams in the Conf, Leagues 1 & 2 would be looking at the potential cash from playing Rangers and think - yep, that would be good..
Of course EPL & Champ teams may object, but it would be extremely difficult if Rangers were to work up to winning League 1 and then be told no promotion....
Maybe they would use that season to run through something like a reconstruction - or does that only happen in Scotland?

If Celtic or Rangers ever moved to the Premier League, they would do so collectively as the Old Firm derby and the ability for it to be marketed in the EPL would be one of the main reasons Sky would want both clubs to move in any case.
I think if we ever move to England it will be straight into a rebranded Premier League.
When Everton wanted a B team in the Conference they were asked to start eleven leagues below the Conference, I don't see how that would be any different for either Celtic or Rangers.
If you add the eleven leagues below the Conference and the four leagues below the Premier League- then you are looking at 15 seasons minimum before we could work our way up to the Premier League and isn't there a 2 seasons notice period for quitting Scottish Football (this wouldn't be an issue in reality if push came to shove).
That's an awful long time, that's why as far as I'm concerned if we ever go to England it will be directly into the Premier League and not working our way up.

I know the lower league teams might be tempted to vote a member of the old firm or both members in but I think all teams vote on subjects such as this and I dont know if there would be enough support from top to bottom to swing the vote Rangers way. I could be wrong but I dont see the likes of Birmingham Wolves Leicester and the likes voting for a potential bigger team to arrive and potentially take away their chance at the EPL
