Feb 28, 2013 - 4:02:05 PM

- As noted before, the February 25th WWE RAW did a strong 3.43 rating with 4.70 million viewers.

In the segment breakdown, the show opened strong with Vince McMahon, Paul Heyman, Brock Lesnar and Triple H for a 3.6 quarter rating. We only have estimates on the gains and losses this week but Ryback vs. Dolph Ziggler lost about 285,000 viewers. CM Punk's promo and trailer for The Call gained around 420,000 viewers - huge numbers for that time slot. The Great Khali vs. Mark Henry lost around 285,000 viewers. Jack Swagger, Zeb Colter and Alberto Del Rio at 9pm gained about 285,000 viewers for a strong 3.7 quarter rating.

Antonio Cesaro vs. Randy Orton lost about 430,000 viewers while Cody Rhodes vs. R-Truth stayed even. Kane and Daniel Bryan vs. Darren Young and Titus O'Neil lost another 285,000 viewers. The Shield's promo at 10pm with Sheamus and Randy Orton getting involved gained around 285,000 viewers for a 3.4 quarter rating.

The big drop of the night came with The Miz vs. Jack Swagger, losing around 430,000 viewers. John Cena's promo gained around 140,000 viewers and CM Punk vs. Cena in the main event gained 1,002,000 viewers for a 3.9 overrun rating - a huge success.

cena and ryback both have storylines sheamus can be used for segments, what can orton offer?

Yeah but Orton's always labelled boring, Sheamus and especially Ryback bore my títs off.

It's not his fault he gets put in a match with Cesaro every week, he needs to be given a storyline, and a heel turn

I agree with Randy. Cena, Sheamus and Ryback are just so boring. When was the last time any of them lost a singles match cleanly(rarely happens)? Orton needs a change of image.

Orton has something no other character but the rock has, and that is cex appeal, he has his place in the company. Problem is his appeal to men does not exist as a face, because of his aesthetic qualities and his huge ego, we need to hate the guy!

As for Sheamus...well that guy is a plonker, a cringey characature of somebodys vision of an irishman, personally they should have made him less manga, less gorilla and more unassuming.

The miz...he is never a face, he is too slimy! Too slow on the mic and to monotone! All these things are hell traits, so I'm not sutprised he is dropping ratings.

Like I said b4 the product is stale and needs a new identity, ratings will fall lower and lower I believe, sad thing is, when ur viewers are leaving u 4 a rival is 1 thing, but when u have no rival and ur viewers are disollusioned...its bad news.

He's also got something you can't train into an athlete, you've either got it or not - gravitional presence. When you look at guys like Cesaro, Swagger, ADR, Bryan, even CM Punk, the first thing that comes to mind is "he looks like a wrestler". When you look at Orton, the first thing you think is, "he looks like a star"....... it doesn't matter how well you deliver in the ring, these people are ultimately what make your company. It's a distinctive absence of individuals like this which keep TNA down.

From a personal standpoint as an open Orton mark i'd beg the WWE to just turn him heel next week if needs be, don't gimme a prolonged build or even a logical catalyst if you want, just give me back my psychotic idol!!! But taking off the blinkered specs, there's really no need to rush anything with him..... infact i see plenty of merit in stripping him further down the card to both enhance the sympathetic appeal from the fanboys and get him some favour back with the smarks by strategically putting over others clean. Putting him almost into the Jericho mid 00s spot to add a touch of establishment and security to the mid-card - maybe even an IC title run could be tossed in there (would be tremediously nestaglic for a particuplar demographic or which i belong, for my money the last credible IC champion ).

Then whether you feel the time is right, bring him back up again. But getting rid would be insane.
