This is why you should always go for the

Jugular.

We had the better team, which could have been better if we actually put in our better players. But this is beside the point. Backing off, sitting deep, allowing shots from outside the box is our go-to tactics. This is not the tactics of a superior team, its the tactics relegation threatened teams come to old trafford and play.

Today fergie has gone conservative again when we could have come on with pace and power and taken the game to them. We are at home and we really should play like that, not cede possession.

Yes, the red card changed everything, but things like this always happen in games. You make your luck. When a team is pressing to get a goal, things like red cards and free kicks tend to go your way. We are a better team than what we put on the field. While it is wonderful giggs has his 1000th game, kagawa, rooney or valencia would have been a better option. That he finished the game should be the ultimate worry.

giggs isnt a starter even when he's one of the best players on the pitch FFS, give it up lad and go and analyse badminton

Hmm, so you point is giggs is the better player on the right both defensively and offensively? Everyone here given the choice will make this same decision?

Unless you all are saying giggs was the absolute best option, I still do not see the escuse for it. If giggs did well, imagine what a better player would have done? I keep pointing it out, we are accepting his performance like we do not have players who can and have offered better.

Tomatoes, are you aware that the only teams that have beaten Real this season are the ones that have sat back and denied them the opportunity to counter attack. High quality attacking sides have been beaten. Real have had the better of their games against Barcelona. They eviscerated Valencia. Against United they didn't have as many good chances as us.

In short, we won because we didn't take our chances and because of the red card. Those were the two things that conspired against a good plan.

**********************************

The plan is good if the ref is sensible and we take our chance. If we attack more, we make more chances. We are at home and we looked like the away team. That is not right, no matter how great the decision is tactically. If you do not come out to win a game, you are liable to have a decision like a red card, or last minute goals or penalties change the result. Its why we do not sit on 1-0 leads at old trafford, honestly no one does.

If we attacked and lost, then we know we did our best. but to lose like this when it is quite obvious we left something in the tank, then surely we have only ourselves to blame.

rooney was the worst player on the pitch in the first leg, what makes you think he would have played better today, whereas giggsy has been in good form recently and deserved to start

Giggs was immense. Tomatoes has been on his back all season.

Even VC isn't this stubborn.

Did Rooney do better there in the first leg?

**********************

You judge players now by how they perform in one leg? What did giggs do in the first leg?

The question is this: Is giggs a better player on the right than rooney, valencia or kagawa? The answer is no. Whats worse is in trying to put giggs in the only position he fit in, we had nani on his weaker side and EVEN giggs on his weaker side. we rarely overlapped to get the insinging crosses we rely so often on. We kept on cutting in and meeting an in form varane. We basically denied our style of play for giggs! imagine if we played what we were actually used to. We could have had a legendary result today, the ref could have given us however many reds he wanted and at least I would know we put in our best.

We can say we did enough to win, the ref was blinkered, we had enough chances. The fact is WE DID NOT PLAY OUR BEST. We should always play our best, especially in games like these.

he's twice the player that valencia is ffs, he's been one of the worst players in the premier league all season, if you honestly think he's better than giggs then there's no hope for you

As a right winger? IF YOU believe that, then there is no hope for you then.

what has valencia done this season to possibly justify a start in the biggest game of the season, id have been a better player for united this year than AV never mind giggsy

Now who is biased? If you were a right winger, you may have been a better choice, than having a left winger/central midfield basically play his first game of the season as a right winger. Honestly, that seems a great decision to you?

Come on. If you are worried about ronaldo, put valencia, put welbeck on him, put rooney on him. At least they have played there once this season. Not once did he beat his man and swing in a cross, and he played great apparently. If valencia did that in a game, he will be hanged.
