I've always maintained that Sri Lanka have the worst pitches (Colombo SSC, PSC, Galle mainly) of any test playing nation - unbelievably flat where their batsmen go in and score in excess of 600 pretty much every time they play and then Murali would bowl to skittle out the opposition. Without Murali, they're struggling to win at home these days. At the moment, they can't even bowl out Bangladesh who have just put on a 200 run partnership!
Something needs to be done about the wickets in Sri Lanka. There needs to be standard setting by the ICC. I'm all for home advantage but these pitches are disgraceful and make for very poor viewing. It's little wonder why most of the sub-continent teams prefer T20 as opposed to proper test cricket..I mean which aspiring cricketer would want to bowl for long spells on pitches where anyone and everyone can score?

Hi folks,
Joined this site recently.. SL pitches seems to have one of the worst in the world but at the same time I think Bangladesh seems to improve as Pak lost their series last time.

Lankans pitches are just like that. Only difference between then and now is that they don't have murali.
Also, lets give the bengla boys some credit here. If they get hammered we slate them and if they put up a fight we slate them. The bengs have done well.

Murali was already retired when Pak played last year and still they lost the test series to Lanka. Again my point as stated earlier that Bangladesh do seem to improve as due to their current performance this test. It is still early to fully conclude as the test series is not completed yet.

Just shows how crap the wicket is when Bangladesh can get over 600..I see sri-lanka are now 220-1..

Over finally...average of 322 runs per day with 20 odd overs that could have been completed today. Disgraceful pitch..7 hundreds and one double. Can't see Colombo being any different to be honest, if not more of a pathetic pitch
