I guess thats my take on the summer budget, surely Mr Carroll will go and maybe a few others in Coates and mabe skrtel, spearing, wilson etc added to say a £25M from FSG. To my mind thats enough for a couple of quality defenders and a top midfielder and a quality striker
For a full strength line up of:
............................Reina..........................
...............Amorebieta*...Agger.............
Johnson.......................................Enrique
............................Lucas............................
...............Gerrard...........Coutinho. ...........
....Suarez..........Sturridge..........Downing
Bench from; A Williams *, X Alonso*, S Jovetic*, Sterling, Hendo, Kelly, Allen, Borini, Suso, Wisdom, Ibe, Jones.
* these TYPES of players...not saying we will get these players before the wumming starts!!!
That sort of squad has enough of the bench to win games that are heading for a draw and turn losing games into draws or wins....it has top notch options from the bench.
Before any numpties start I think alonso is possible and amorebieta is a decent target while A Williams despite what he said I am sure would love to be at Anfield. Jovetic is the one we would find difficult due to his attraction from the CL clubs if we dont get in, however I do like the look of that whole squad!
£60M with sales for the summer?

"What has it got to do with it?" We've got a world class player who came to us knowing that he could quite possibly not be playing any European football for 18 months, which is exactly what happened. Yet still he came. And despite being linked to all sorts of world class teams on a daily basis, he insists he is happy here and actually expressed his disappointment at his words being twisted when the media said he was inviting offers from other teams.
So we've got one of the best players in the world who is happy to be here, and we will be able to attract very good players of a lesser calibre than Suarez. I'm not even suggesting for one moment that we will sign Jovetic, my point is we can sign very good players.

If United did beers. Firstly mate, Lucas and Alonso are both completely different players, can't be compared. Secondly, before Lucas got injured he was by a huge margin the best DM in premier league, there's stats to prove it -FACT-. With Sturridge, he scored 5 goals in 6 games for LFC, and just getting started, well, can't be much more Jovetic could've done.

Why would any everton fan use Liverpool as a measure of success?
I prefer to look up the table and try to catch the bignored clubs ahead of us.

Truetored, Lucas the best in the league? He had a good six months in his time at Liverpool, before which he was hated by the fans, since he has come back from his injury he's been back to his average self.

He looked like he looked(Lucas) was running in quicksand for southampton's third last week.

A good six months
Try three seasons.

I actually think Lucas is Liverpool's third best player. He is underrated especially at a time where there is a lack of decent holding midfield players around the world. Is he as good as Makalele was or Viera? No. Is there anybody better than him in the Premier League (as a hoding defensive midfielder)? Probably not. He would make a lot of difference to Chelsea for example. Before you all tell me Yaya and Fellaini, they are not holding players. Alonso is better technically but not as good defensively - Mikel but with class in the pass!

Third best....
That doesn't bode well for the rest of the squad after Gerrard and Carragher.

If we spend £60m and Downing is still in the team I am going to punch a goat in the face.

Now that's a sensible comment! Even Downing can't believe he plays (or tries to ) in a Liverpool shirt.
