Team Orders & Lewis Hamilton

I am not a fan of team orders. But what Ross Brawn did today might play a huge part come the end of the season if Merc can keep up their in-season development. I mean, that extra 3 points today for Lewis can either win or loose you the championship. That guy is really ruthless. "Negative Nico, fall back. We want to bring both cars home". Wao.

Agreed, Nico's a better man than most of us. Not sure if I would have done that

Funnily enough I didn't see any articles about Sutil and DiResta last week. This isn't even a slight issue, he was allowed to race up until around 5 or 6 laps to go and couldn't make a pass stick. After that was told to hold station.
Nothing like what happened at Red Bull. A man lacks honour.

Vettel was out of order yesterday and has admitted as much. It's now up to Red Bull to keep the team together by sitting the drivers down, getting it sorted and moving on. People are quick to forget how Webber reacted in Brazil when he was told to move over to let Vettel by last season when the title depended on it and he responded instead by setting a fastest lap and making Vettel work for the pass. I daresay there was some hangover from that in what happened yesterday. And in case anyone is tempted to get carried away by thoughts of 'Saint' Lewis Hamilton, I remember an incident when he attempted a suicidal overtake that led to him ploughing into the back of team-mate Button in the driving rain in Canada, so let's keep some perspective here - these guys at the top in this sport are pretty much all the same. Some are more ruthless than others and those are the ones that tend to win multiple world titles.

You mean the incident where he was about to pass him for a second time and Button moved over on him? Yeah that Hamilton guy........"ploughing into the back of his team-mate"

I remember that Jean Alesi was asked by Ferrari to let Berger go past because he was faster. Alesi refused some people actually warmed to him doing that.

How would people have felt if Massa had refused to let Alonso pass (Fernando is faster than you). I think people would have had respect for Massa if he'd not let him pass.

It'snot quite the same but it does say something?

Button crashed into hamilton and it was from the side. Button claimed he didn't see him but we know better.

Ted Kravitz included it in his top 10 moves of the year saying button showed hamilton he was no pushover.

From that you deduce he ran into his team mate. The lad can't win with people. If he ended world hunger peopl will suggest he's destroyed charities.

If you want to bash him, use evidence from his tangles with Massa in 2011 to get your bashing fix.

You can also use twitter from last year

As much as anything re: Hamilton and Rosberg I was impressed that both drivers were more than mature after the race towards each other.

I think these 2 genuinely get on, and I think Rosberg will prove to be a v.competitive teammate for Hamilton.

Sure I think Hamilton may come out on top but I think that Rosberg has plenty of ability to keep it interesting.

Just shows that Rosberg beating schumi wasn't a fluke. He's a gifted driver and both of them will bring out the best in each other

ManUtdDaredevil - 'the lad can't win with people'. Exactly the point I'm making about Vettel. If Webber had been ordered to stay behind Seb the anti-Vettel brigade would be moaning about that saying how much they hated team orders and 'why don't the let them race'. All this sound and fury would be non-existent if the roles yesterday were reversed. In fact many on here would be congratulating Webber. Also, I've nothing against Hamilton - along with Vettel and Alonso he's one of the best three drivers on the grid. His problem is that he's getting older and he's no longer the next big thing. Vettel's in all of their heads and it's gonna be up to them to do something about it or you'll end up with years of domination like we saw with Schumacher at Ferrari at the turn of the century.
