As the title suggests, who would you all nominate as our leading player this season?
Choose 3 players in ranking order and I will tot up the scores to see how things stand at the end.
I will go for.......
1st (5pts) - James Vaughan. Despite missing a lot of the season with injury, Vaughany, for me the lad is a cut above. Always a threat inside or outside the box, scores goals, and makes intelligent runs creating space for others.
2nd (3pts) - Keith Southern. Another hampered by injuries, we look so much stronger in midfield when he is playing. Hopefully he'll take the captains armband next season.
3rd (1pt) - Adam Clayton. Lost his way in the second half of the season (who hasn't??) but at the start he was a joy to watch. Energetic, good passer. Needs competition though as he seems to be winging it at the moment.
I'm not looking for anyone to agree or disagree....just nominate the players and give your reasons. Cheers.

jacko..you obviously didn't see our massive defeats..
only novak still trying, still running..the rest totally gave up..
on a really bad day he will give everything, maybe on better days(blackpool away etc) he might look a better player, we could make alan shearer and supermac look sh-t on our bad days, what chance has a lad from Gateshead got on those days???
other than to chase all the sh-t long rubbish and try his best, none...

I think i will have to go with the Flow,,,, And add to what will probably be the top three,,, 1- JV, 2- Clayton and 3- Dixon,,,,, Decent on the ball, great crosser and a niggly dirty bazza when he wants to be,,,,,, Started off ok but lost his confidence after being dropped by Larry for the stamping incident that was missed by the referee,,,, Woods and Smithies have also shown they can be comfortable playing in this league,,,,,,, Sadly i see no future in this division for Southern, Yes he is steady but simply too slow,,, Like Johnson and Kilbane before him, Signed two seasons too late,, Legs have gone and injuries have caught up, Hopefully Larry will take him off our hands.

Vaughan has been our best player by a mile puts in so much effort and has won us so many games. Surprised no one else has gone for woods, been very solid this season and miles better than hunt and Dixon at times. Clayton was excellent first half of the season, dropped off a bit now but still been very good.

1, Clayton! Played more than Vaughan and gives his all......... Most games!
2, Vaughan! Most will vote for him, but his injuries have pushed him into second!
3, Smithies! Only one who looks good in our shaky defence

Vaughan - no brainer
Clayton - no brainer but for Vaughan

Based on the games i've seen this season..
1. Vaughan - Championships Drogba. Most passion I've seen from a loan player at Town.
2. Neil Danns - He's got a knack of getting control of midfield.
3. Adam Clayton - Technical quality at this level very good and has scored some crackers this season.
