I haven't ranted on about this for about 4 months so it needs an airing again.
I hate the fact that invariably when you go away to watch the Brewers you will typically spend £18 plus to get in.
The link above gives a guide to how much we should be charged at each game. There is no reason at all why away fans should be charged more than home fans. Arguably, if we are behind the goal, we should be charged less.
Last season I got so annoyed by it at one game that I went in the home end. Why? It was £5 cheaper to stand on the halfway line and watch the game than it was to stand with the Brewers fans...behind the goal. I only did it once as encouraging the players on my own and celebrating when we scored on my own wasn't quite the same.
So, good to see that we may get charged a tenner at Torquay to stand behind the goal on that crumbly old terrace with cow shed roof on Saturday. But undoubtedly it will be £20 or best part of.
Turnstile Dilemmas

Its always been a big moaning point of mine as well, at Oxford a few seasons back i can always remember a mate of mine turning to me as we got in and saying bloody hell i think i must own that seat for how expensive it was. 18 pound then and thats about 4 or 5 seasons ago, robbery comes to mind !!!

I know it's a completely different level but when I played Welsh League every club in the Division had to charge the same amount for entry and for a programme. I know it's a bit simplistic but if every team in your division charged for example £18 that would seem fair.

Many years ago, when I was a kid watching Portsmouth, I recall a season when the club charged visiting fans the same as we were charged when we watched Pompey at their respective grounds. Before that Pompey had been the cheapest club for away supporters in the then Div. 3, but we were getting ripped off left, right and centre, particularly as we had the largest away following in the division.
I'd have no problem with Burton charging on a similar basis, especially as Bradford with a decent away following would be charged £20 to stand behind the goal.

Funny you should mention Bradford they charged £1 for home supporters then expected Burton Albion fans to pay £20 for the same privilege at last year's game.

Its always been a bone of contention with me.
The answer is simple.
We need to buy our chairman a backbone then he will have the sence to charge away fans at the Pirelli stadium exactly what we pay when we go away.
Yes we may sit down at some ground but somewhere like Don valley stadium you need binoculars to see the game.
Other places your stuck in corners.
Behind the goal dosn't bother me as thats were we stick away fans so no argument there.
Being ripped off is usually the gripe and i say if you cant beat em join em.

Swindon fan in peace. You make some valid points, our match day prices have gone up £5 this season to £25 that's for home and away fans. The town end ( home end behind goal ) is £19 on match days . Lots of very unhappy supporters down here, some are even
talking about staying away unless prices are reduced. I
made the point on a Swindon forum about clubs in our
league charging more when we visit, I wouldnt expect
anything less to be honest. We have to date sold 4,800
season tickets which works out as paying £13 per
game, that is good value compared to the match day
price. I agree with you about paying through the nose
to stand behind a goal or in a corner quite often with
poor views.
You will have a roof over your head at Swindon without
pillars and new this season you even get your own bar
which aint bad as We Can't even get a pint in the town
end ! All the best, looking forward to our games this season.
