Brewers Match Predictor League Table (43)

Absolutely superb. I was absolutely delighted with the effort and endeavour from everyone. A real battling performance. They fought for every ball and it was hard work that won that game for us. A professional job done.

I wondered if GR would be brave enough to drop Tommo - and he did. He has let a few go past him in the last 3 games - some he should have saved. He'll be back. However, Deano didn't put a foot wrong tonight and was a spectator for much of it.

Bell, Weir, Mags, Bob, Damo, O'Connor - superb. I have doubted Robbie Weir at times but I could see what we had been missing tonight.

I thought Bob would be back at centre half and thought Sharps would be the one to make way. A surprise there but they (Bob and Sharps) have a proven good understanding.

The goals were both gifts in some respects but they were taken well.

Really pleased. Friday night now a distant memory.

And now to the other league table.

Hats off to Captain Utd. Yet another correct prediction. That is his 7th of the season. Having led the table virtually all season it surely must be his title now. Is it all over? A spectacular collapse and/or a good run from someone else will only prevent him winning it. Well done Captain Utd.

Someone else deserves a mention. Don Touched My Boots guessed correctly again - his 4th of the season. Well done Don.

An interesting battle mid-table for that 4th Champions League spot. Marco zooms in to 4th tonight.

At the foot of the table will late joiner BAFC 123 get enough points to catch Frank Ashton up (who also joined us late)?

The league table looks like this.

1) Captain Utd - 105
2) Foxy Freddy - 98
3) JFWqwerty6 - 95
4) Marco - 86
5) Stuart44 - 86
6) Don Touched My Boots - 85
7) Otep - 84
8) Emnez - 81
9) Old Brookender - 78
10) Steve1210 - 76
11) Derby Yellow - 74
12) Burton Boy - 71
13) Terraceman - 69
14) Ady1963 - 61
15) Brewer Dave - 48
16) Frank Ashton - 46
17) BAFC 123 - 38

Yes second half we murdered them and it could have been four or five with a bit more composure . Plymouth i fear may be a sterner test , i understand the away allocation of support is already a sell out ,so it should be a good atmosphere . I just wish the Burton public would come out in force to match the away following and encourage this team to get across the line ,we are so close to what would be a marvellous season. There will be more twists and turns before the lottery of the play offs , we just need one more win to guarantee one of those places ,with still an outside chance of a top three place ,although i do think we will need to get a result away at Bradford assuming we get a good result on saturday . I thought Maghoma was back to his best last night and is up to ninth leading scorer in the league ! . What does Gary do now ? does he stick with this side of juggle the pack ? .

Well thank god my doom and gloom scenario didn't happen!! I don't mind dropping down the league being incorrect!

Firstly the changes were not at all what I expected or wanted. Tommo has been superb this season so cannot understand him being benched. Zander is our Captain and probably POTY again why? Pato has scored 2 in 2 and only gets five minutes at the end?

For me WW were one of the poorest sides I have seen all year, they had nothing. Defensively we had nothing to deal with so O'Connnor and McCrory were allowed time and space to make some superb forward runs. Marcus was superb but I just don't trust Sharps, he's slow and is an accident waiting to happen - he paniced at the end and ballooned a clearance off one of own players which thankfully landed on the roof of our net (probably the closest WW came to scoring ).

Midfield was superb and Weir slotted straight back in and was everywhere. MacDonald tracked back superbly but I still think he lacks something going forward. Mags was simply unplayable - the Wycombe defenders were having kittens everytime he got the ball, he was direct and took both his goals with ease and confidence - simply outstanding.

Good to see Billy back, hustled and bustled and used his strength to win a lot of good balls. The weak link for me is Symes - in Zola, Billy and Pato they have 'the spark' which strikers need to constantly be on the move and attacking - Symes for me is no more than a League 2 plodder, he wins a few balls, passes a few balls but he has not got 'the spark!'

Three MASSIVE points that we sorely needed after Friday's capitulation. Three points against Plymouth on Saturday will be much harder to come by as they are fighting for their lives.

Delighted the dream lives on UTBs

Well done Brewers, The first half was a lackluster affair but in the second half the Brewers were back to their old selfs. They bossed the midfield and had chance after chance. It was the Wycombe goal keeper who saved a few on target shots, keeping the scoreline down as it could have been 4-0 easy. The best part for me was the Brewers keeping a clean sheet and clawing back some GD , which was shot to bits last Friday. I am happy to slip down the prediction league and get it wrong , but for any one who went last Friday would know why I would think the Brewers wheel had fallen off. I can see why Tomo did not play last night. The fact is he has let 10 in the net in 2 games, dont get me wrong I still think he is a great keeper, but sometimes players need a wakeup call. Well done Brewers , but a win on Saturday will make me put the Vale nightmare to bed.
Come on you Brewers.

I think it will take me a little longer to forget Friday night JFWqwerty6!! One of the most humbling nights ever as a Brewers supporter, but last nights win does make it feel a little better!!

First half we were pants second half we were awesome (or should I say Mags was!) Unbelievable performance by the enigma that is Maghoma - he really did terrorise the Wycombe defenders, amazing performance.

For me Symes isn't good enough, just don't like him and is for me the weak link in the side. I thought second half we looked more like the team that has been amazing us all season. Roll on Plymouth on Saturday, but think it will be a torrid game!!

Although I'll be out of the country between now and the end of the season I shall be willing the Brewers to success. You'll be able to feel the vibes from across the Atlantic. I've set my heart on my first visit to the Pirelli next season to see the Brewers v Swindon (yes, we are mathematically safe from relegation) and to a visit to your legendary chipper.

Good luck chaps!

Nothing short of a win on Tuesday would have all but ended our flirt with automatic promotion and placed doubt on a playoff spot, albeit not guaranteed it would take a huge collapse not to have two more games after the season ends.

Gary spoke well and realised we were on the verge on imploding but he turned that on its head with some gutsy calls and the overall performance!

I've reviewed the end of season's fixtures for the top 7 sides and the permutations are endless with Bradford having a huge part to play given they've got Rotherham, Cheltenham and the Brewers in the last 3 matches, plus a tricky game at the ever improving Chesterfield.

You could argue that Rotherham have the easier games but the teams further down are scrapping to avoid the drop so they can take nothing for granted.

It would take some prediction to list the final placings; I feel plenty of twists are still on the way, hang on to your hats guys as we are just about to board the roller coaster!

Come on you Brewers!!!
