Match Preview
Tottenham Hotspur travel to Switzerland with a lot of work to do to secure a place in the Europa League semi-finals after a 2-2 draw with Basel in the first leg.Spurs fell 2-0 behind at White Hart Lane last week before hitting back to level the tie thanks to goals from Emmanuel Adebayor and Gylfi Sigurdsson. The same two players scored at the weekend in another 2-2 draw, this time against Everton, as Tottenham continued their push for a top-four finish in the Premier League.Whilst determined to secure UEFA Champions League football for next season, Andre Villas-Boas has always been keen to make the most of this year's continental campaign.Spurs' bid for Europa League glory almost unravelled in the previous round when they surrendered a 3-0 lead against Inter Milan, only to grab a decisive away goal in extra time in Italy. They will need an improved performance on their travels against a Basel side that impressed in the first leg.Basel, who have won their last four European games at St. Jakob-Park and knocked out Zenit St Petersburg in the round of 16, drew 1-1 with St Gallen at the weekend as their lead at the top of the Swiss league was cut to one point."We are happy to be in the quarter-finals and to have achieved a good result in the first leg," coach Yakin said."We are well prepared, the team showed last week that we can keep up with top teams and the top English teams. We are very confident about the game and we will see what happens."

TOTTENHAM Team News
Tottenham will be without star man Gareth Bale for the Europa League game against Basel due to an ankle injury.Aaron Lennon (knee), William Gallas (calf), and Jermain Defoe (pelvis) have not travelled with the squad but Tottenham expect all three, and Bale, to be back for the game against Manchester City a week on Sunday.Midfielder Sandro is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, while centre-back Younes Kaboul (also knee) is around 10 to 15 days away from full fitness.

FC BASEL Team News
Former Liverpool right-back Philipp Degen missed the first leg through injury for Basel but coach Murat Yakin confirmed he will start on Thursday.Cabral and Park Joo-ho are also available while Marco Streller has overcome a knock and is able to feature.Valentin Stocker, Fabian Frei and Mohamed Salah all impressed in the 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane and are expected to be involved from the start.
