According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Former WWE Superstar Dave Batista has been working to get back into wrestling shape, and is fast approaching his 290-pound billed weight during his last run with WWE. The former 6-time World Champion left WWE in 2010 to pursue his interests in acting, as well as a career in Mixed Martial Arts.
Batista has said in recent interviews that he is interested in returning to the WWE, and listed part-time workers such as The Rock and Brock Lesnar as potential opponents. With the future of the planned Rock/Lesnar match currently unknown, it is possible WWE would push to bring back Batista to fill the role of Dwayne Johnson, who was injured in his WrestleMania match with John Cena.
It is worth noting that Batista recently landed a part in Marvel's big comic book movie "Guardians of the Galaxy" which is set to begin filming this summer.
Huge star set to return to WWE

You look at people like Muhammed Hassan, he was an awesome heel who got so much heat, he was actualyl set to win the WHC vs Batista (I think) but then the unfortunate London bombings occured on 7/7 and WWE panicked and ended up releasing him.

It makes you wonder why WWE went for the whole gimmick in the first place. They could've easily thrown him into some sort of oil tycoon Sheik gimmick if they wanted to play it safe (as relevant to the times as the opposed muslim).
You don't half bake an angle like that, you hit all the cliches or you don't bother - sorta like Swagger & Colter. You get the fans cringing, wincing, screaming like blue murder if you really mine gold....... i expected him to threaten Taker with a bomb screaming Allah Hu Akbar (which would've been a contradiction on behalf of the character funnily enough )

Difficult to assess how any Asian performer will fare when all you have for reference right now is Jinder Mahal and Khali, both of whom are absolute junk.
As for Batista, bring him back I say. Lesnar sucks.

Jinder is Canadian.

Jinder was taking on and beating sheamus before they decided to 3 man band him

Lesnar just needs to get the subtly in his delivery back which can only come from shaking off ring rust - i'd expect Batista will be the same whose lacked rhythm in the ring since 07.
Regarding Lesnar, his attack on 3MB this week was better + 3MB sold him superbly..... everything was more fluid, got great extension on the belly to belly suplex and actually got some turn on the F5 for a change
