Football Policing

Afternoon

After watching the terrible scenes in the Millwall v Wigan game it got me wondering what the situation was for Saturday? West Yorkshire Police stated they had intelligence that Hull City fans were planning on coming and causing trouble and so put some severe restriction on tickets and travel.

On that basis I can only assume we have placed even more severe restrictions on Millwall fans? After all its been proven that the holigan element is alive and kicking in the stands at Millwall and not consigned to the past like they would like.

If the restrictions are not tighter than the Hull game then it seems that Hull should have a case against WYP for discrimination. I suspect not as many will turn up on the weekend but surely it needs to be planned in advance to avoid trouble inside and outside of the ground.

What do you think?

I'm with 38 on this one....it's time clubs had the option to say "no" to away fans when Millwall visit.

I remember one fixture about 5 years ago when we played them. Must have been about 80 of them in the away end during the game. After the match I walked up to the centre and there must have been about 2-300 of them causing havoc all over the place.

The extra policing costs just aren't worth it. If they brought 3,000 and 300 misbehaved then whilst it would still be a pain in the a-se, at least it would be profitable. Probably make for a cracking atmosphere too.

They love the reputation they have. The play-off semi at The Den is still so surreal. 40+ year old blokes spitting bile everywhere whilst the stewards just let them. I dread to think what would have happened if we'd won.

Enough is enough. F-ck em.

All other entertainment venues can choose to refuse customers and so I think we should be able to refuse away fans if we believe they will cause trouble. As said above when there are next to no fans in the stadium it isnt financially viable. Maybe the only other option is for Millwall to have to pay for their local police to travel with them in sufficient numbers to control them. Let that burden fall on them

Remember Millwall 'fans' ripping seats out of stands?

Apparently, they were fighting among themselves, weird bunch! The club have not done enough to get rid of the minorities loutish behaviour.

Seriously,
it's an easy fix really, especially at 'their' Den.
As we all know. the visitors are restricted to the upper tier at their place.
BIZZARE ?
Viz top tip to the 'authorities' !
Make all home fans at the Den sit in the top tiers only.
And employ that Robinson fella who does a cracking job of negating 'an atmosphere' at the JSS. By making sure all the home fans sit darn.......
Ha ha ha, You couldn't make it up.

The Kan tz would use a £10 mill copter & god knows what resources to catch me riding out in the wilds.....
& they can't stop jeep ohz squatting in car parks or our Asian friends drug running Bradford road in very Illegal Subaru's at all ours of the night.

yeah, Hull fans were a real problem
major reaction for that game....why ?
Millwall's visit to the JSS,
kick off 9.30 am Monday....M1 blocked for 48 hours north bound just in case.......

We shouldn't over react..Don't give 'em the screen time or the publicity..like they stopped doing with the blooming streakers...(Oh Sarah Keays)....they'll soon get naffed off.

Alternatively, we could just ambush them and beat them all up

Darn, thought you were in the land of the frogs! Enjoy the Blackburn match. Last time I was there, I fell asleep! Not because of the football match, but because I had done the charity walk. Got a FREE t-shirt for doing it, whoop, whoop!

Lets not tar them all with the same brush.

I've met several Millwall fans and never had a problem with any of them. Infact I was on a train full of them coming back from London Bridge on Saturday night and they were well behaved.
The club can only do so much and they were a great help to me and anyone else who travelled down to our play off game by train the other season, which is more than you can say about Town.
