With today's latest "leak" to the press, I can't help but feel we've missed an opportunity to actually make progress on the pitch.
Let's not beat around the bush, this year has been awful for us on and off the park. Sure we may have won promotion, but it's been a slog, to put it mildly, and the only reason why we are so far ahead is that the teams around us, have all took points off each other. MacLeod apart, it's pretty hard to see a positive from this season.
Now, these plans outlined a new philosophy which would help pave the way forward, both domestically and on the European scene, once we get there. Yes we should be looking to bring in young, hungry players, none of the old guard coming back, so no Boyd, no Miller, no Novo etc, and no signings of those who are 30+ i.e. Daly, decent player, just not the type we should be targetting. Unfortunately now, though, it seems as if these are all viable targets.
An ethos of how players should conduct themselves on the pitch would have been much needed as well. Certain players this season have disgraced themselves with their conduct on the field, Ian Black at Tannadice for example, or Naismith a few weeks back. Things like this shouldn't be tolerated, and should have been acted upon. Most of all because it sets bad examples to younger people who watch the game.
The playing style philosophy too, is something which reads as a missed opportunity. Too many times this season, have we let players become lackadaisical, and when possession is lost, there is no eagerness whatsoever to press the ball further up the pitch. As such pressure is exerted onto our defence and is why we've looked so poor in that aspect. Even without this coming to fruition now, I'd like to think this is something which could be incorporated from next season.
Oh well, here's to what could have been.

To what I was saying about Clark's goal return this season earlier. He's also 21 years old, which IMO makes the return even more impressive. Plus he's not an out and out striker.

Missed opportunity or here's what you could have had
I'm not convinced. Some great points in the plan, tho maybe a bit pie in the sky
