My brother is a massive Liverpool fan and I'm a United fan and so obviously we are continually arguing about football.
The one thing he said that made sense is that Liverpool are the winners with Fergie retiring. United will struggle to compete for the CL with no European experience and might have a problem in the PL (we need to see if he can continue to cultivate United's winning mentality) and Everton will struggle without Moyes as he was excellent on a tight budget and kept them punching above their weight.
Liverpool can regain their hold on Merseyside and build a base to challenge for the league again knowing that United won't be racking up titles while they get their act together.
Manchester City will also be smiling!
Thoughts?
Winners in this situation?

I reckon Moyes will be a yes man to Fergie and not a lot will change for UTD.

I think Fergie will still have an impact on the team selection for the first season anyway

Fergie has said he's not going to interfere. He also said he won't ever go into the dressing room ever again.
It will be Moyes and his background staff who make the calls.

Old Whiskey knows exactly the right things to say, he has no problem lying when he knows it will benefit his club. Personally, I have no problem with that and I'd do the same if I were in his shoes.
