People want to go to Wembley - not be shafted off with playing in some second rate stadium up North.

THe Millenium Stadium in Wales would have been the best neutral option by a mile - and decent stadium to boot.

I totally agree that it should have been played somewhere else. The Madjeski or Ashton Gate perhaps. I don't think the Millenium would have worked as it would still have been ridiculously empty.

Personally speaking, if the Brewers were in the Play Off final at Ibrox I would have gone.

That's why the national stadium is in Wembley and not somewhere outside Birmingham.

Old Trafford a second rate stadium? Really, since when? I played there in 1983 and it was a superb place then - now it is in a different league entirely.

To be honest it shouldn't matter where your club is playing in the play-offs, if you support them then you will be there, irrespective of how far it is from home.

Otep, I agree the crowd was disappointing. I was at a wedding otherwise I would have done my best to get up there and cheer on the mighty Boro'!

Attendances at Stevenage this season have been mediocre despite the club playing at it's highest ever level.

With the exception of a few notable games (Reading and Newcastle in the cup, Bury on the last day of the season and Accrington in the play-off semi final first leg, and maybe the local-ish derby against Barnet) it's been between 2,500 to 3,500 and dropped even more to about 1,700 for the Tuesday night games.

We need to get closer to capacity more often next season and onwards to help take the club forwards. You're right that with a population in the local area of around 84,000 we should expect more. Unfortunately Stevenage are a second team for most, with the majority supporting a big London club (or Man U or Liverpool) and pottering along to see Stevenage when the weather is nice and there's nothing else to do, or when the game is massive!

I count Stevenage as my second club, I'm still a Wednesday fan first and fore-most. But I live 10 minutes from the Stevenage ground and I get down there as often as I can for home games. I hope more people will turn up regularly to support them next season, they've more the earned it with their performances for the last two years.
