Spot Fixing in the IPL

3 Indians busted for spot fixing with one being an Indian international (not a very good one) in Sreesanth

The whole tournament is a sham with numerous cases from team to team over the years and country who is happy to embed illegal bookmakers to ruin the game of cricket.

Yet more disgusting revelations about the IPL. This is quickly turning into a farce. When will the BCCI wake up?

Kash, any chance you could update this thread later to pak scotland match thread . I was going to do one, but seen as you've already got one up.......
some interesting facts about scotland would be nice, or majid Haq .

Also, an interesting point of discussion would be how the folk we'll get on without Afridi, and i'd be interested in your guys views on PCB handing Afridi a CATEGORY A contract only 5 days ago, but dropping him for the champs trophy

Afridi get's a Category A contract cos he's the only player that brings in money for the PCB. Afterall the Boom Boom brand was down to him.

I'll create a match thread this afternoon before Amir jumps in with his curse

yeah, but hes not gona bring in the money if hes not selected or playing. They've done the same with Younis khan. wtf!! nice to see gully has dropped to category C though

This will be the end of Sree if found guilty. He probably won't be selected ever again, even if he is cleared of all charges.

These three players are a disgrace and I hope an example is made of them.

Why is everyone on JA obsessed with blaming the bookmakers? I mean ultimately the blame has to lie with the players for accepting money. The book makers would be out of business if the players refuse to accept their offers.

If illegal bookmakers are to be eliminated, then betting has to be legalized and regulated.

Bloody Indians, u'd never find the Pakistanis behaving so shamefully.

Delhi police and BCCI are doing the right thing by going after the players. To make the best out of the situation these players should be done for life as far as cricket concerned. That will send a right message. Drugs & betting in sports difficult to get away with. Always going to happen due to amount of money involved. Authorities have to keep up.
