Top journalism, never let him have the easy ride that he's used to and it's abundantly clear that Platini and FFP are neither fit for purpose

You've summed how I feel on this SAF, agree with pretty much everything you've said.

That's what I'm saying about Dortmund. As they're not a giant like Bayern, they're wide open to losing their best players. Look at what Bayern are doing to them.
The net spend figures you've listed for each club, you have to look at how good that specific team is before you start comparing their spend figures. Utd were in a position to add players every so often into their team. They're already top of the pile so the need for them to splash out is far less than the clubs below them.
careful management will only take you so far 7 imo before the big boys will come and take your players. It has always been like this. The bigger clubs take the better players as they can offer better wages and better chance of winning trophies. Even if a club like Dortmund do manage to win the league, how likely is it that they will stay there and become a giant like Bayern without significant investment into the team? Not very likely is it. What would they have had to do to keep Sahin first time around, Gotze, Kagawa? Lewandowski?
The argument that I made at the start was how Chelsea or City can rival Utd without significant investment into the team. You cited you can do it without ploughing vast amounts of money into the team but you said it will take time. How long exactly though? 20 years of careful frugal spending before you finally make it to the top? It would take a miracle for that to happen imo.
Its like a vicious circle like I said before. If you dont spend, you cant keeep your players, if you cant keep your players, you cant win trophies, if you cant win trophies, you cant increase fanbase and revenue, if you cant increase fanbase and revenue, how can you match the big boys domestically and in europe without investment into your team

With Bayern and Dortmund, Bayern didnt win the league for 2 years.. Everyone knew they would come back though? Their resources are far more superior to Dortmunds. Bayern have come back this season and stomped all over them. On their way to a domestic treble with more strengthening of the squad being done and the addition of Pep. So where has this left Dortmund right now? Are they really that much closer to Bayern now? Even after the 2 league titles in a row? No imo because they're losing players left right and centre so how can Dortmund stand toe to toe with Bayern for a longer period than 2 years without investment into their team?

not domestic treble btw. *

I don't think you can use any German club as a comparison because of how much they are subsidised by local councils, it is an entirely different model.

Biggish..........................Enic funds Spurs and Lewis owns Enic
Roman funds Chelsea through a company too
________________________________________
Abramovich is listed as the SOLE owner of Chelsea FC, there is no holding company!
As the details of the financing for the NPD project are yet to be released, it would be interesting to know where you got your figures from?
Enic is run by Daniel Levy (who is also the other major shareholder), Joe Lewis does not get involved in the day to day running & only comes to WHL once or twice a year.
There has also been no release of information from the Mayor's office about any extra funding to assist Spurs in building the stadium, care to share your source?????????????
