First eleven next season?

BELL

MITCHELL CRIBARI MCCULLOCH (C) WALLACE

LITTLE LAW McLEOD TEMPLETON

CLARK DALY

I'd be okay with this first eleven after Sep 1st. Hopefully Cribari might improve with McCulloch beside him. I'd rather persevere with Mitchell at right back than give Argyriou, or Cole, or Faure more time there. Looks reasonably strong everywhere else, certainly stronger than season just ended.

Relegates Shiels and Black to the bench, although unfortunately does the same to Aird, Crawford, and McKay who were all picking up useful game-time.

Only negative for me is McCoist still the manager. I feel bad, and disloyal saying this, after all he has done for the club over the past year, and I'd really hope that a suitable position within the club could be found for him, just not as manager - sorry!

Anybody think that the likes of faure, argyriou, cribari weren't rangers targets?

There were rumours of green bein' in wi football agents...mibbe they were kinda foisted on the team?

Just a thought

Dunno nacho

Just seem very odd types to recruit (there's that hindsight again )..and you've got to wonder who was doing the scouting when the place went tìts up cos am sure these guys weren't scouted for the spl ...had to have been done at the last minute. Was it murray?

The thing that annoys me about the McCoist sniping is...what exactly are you comparing him against?
The multi-million pound squad that preceded him??
The lowcost squads in the same league (that incidentally finished 25 points behind us) - away and fook with your "shouldnae be losing to this team or that team"...EVERY team loses to teams they are much superior to and that is fact.
Some people need to sack this god complex and the thought that we have some divine right to win every single game.
Even playing at the very best every single week, there are still going to be some freak results.
Almost all of these guys being slated were signed with a week or so of a transfer window to go, with an eye on the fact we needed a squad that had to last 2 seasons.
Templeton and Wallace have been fine for me.
Even some of the other guys who blow hot and cold are good additions on their day - and even then...who are you comparing them to again exactly?
Can you name any other players in the 3rd division who had the consistency over an entire season?
Which players are going to want to come to a third (now second) division Scottish League club?
It's not exactly a rich pool to choose from...so even of the players we could afford to buy and could afford their wages...the REAL talent is going to tell us to gtf...Aluko got a chance to shine, took it, and then fecked off.
Same as anyone we find half decent will do in the next few seasons, I suspect.

It's always the manager who gets the blame, when it's the players who are out there playing the game, and it's the directors controlling the chequebook and signings.
McCoist isn't tactically naive and neither are the players...but to find consistency at some of the venues we've played at this season takes more than that.

alex mcleish was hunted out of ibrox the season he got us into the last 16 of CL and was a kris boyd sitter away from making it to last 8

why, because results were not good enough in spl and we finished 3rd

people falling over themselves to defend mccoist

sorry but perhaps i hold my club to a higher standard than the rest of you, i will NEVER accept Rangers losing at home to annan or peterhead and become a happy clapping cheerleader / excuse maker for manager or the players regardless of who they are

mccoist is a dud manager and the majority of players he had last season are duds and i ve said before id hope we can move them on

Nacho - and get who in exactly?

Both in terms of manager and playing squad?
You've already condemned Daly to being a dud before he's kicked a ball for us...if we buy second division level players, then we'll struggle to get out of the division and we'll certainly have to get rid by the time we go to the first.
Clark is a calculated risk because he's young, scored a barrowload in the division last season and has time to develop, but when you're EXPECTED to deliver back to back promotions, there are only so many risks you can take.
Black, Shiels, Templeton, Wallace and Sandaza were stand out performers in the SPL....the fact they're struggling at times in the SFL3 is entirely down to the environment they're in.
At the end of the day though, they've delivered the only objective for the season fairly comfortably - promotion.
It is the same objective this season.
Anything else is a bonus, but some people seem to have higher expectations....

stop talking shioite , i never once said daly was a dud. the players im calling duds are hutton, black, cribari, faure, argyriou, cole, naismith perry etc.

Mccoist HIMSELF said that he wanted these spl players so we could compete in the cups

when we got humiliated in both, he then changed his tune to the league was only priority

some amount of revisionism from Rangers fans
