Federer

Should he bow out whilst some people remember him as the GOAT??

At Wimbledon if the seedings go to plan he will meet either Andy,Nole or Rafa in the semi finals

Even the fiercest of his fans cannot foresee him picking up more than 1 set against these top guys surely.

I'm gonna stick my bet on him dropping out at quarters again. If he meets a Tsonga or Berdych they will simply overpower him.

Fed fans rejoyce in his dominating a very weak era of the game, Enjoy that he was most certainly one of the best but please no more GOAT cos he simply is not.

Rafa has destroyed him time and again, Andy Murray has a winning h2h record against him and is now beating him on the biggest of stages and Novak i believe sees him as little more than an irrelevance now.

Retire and let your fans remember that you once were a great player

He should bow out when he no longer enjoys playing tennis at this level. Shouldn't give a hoot what anyone else thinks.

you're probably right mate but i'd imagine he'd be quite concerned about his legacy

Tbh, I used to find him a lot more unbearable than now tbh.

Any predictions for today's semis?

Well that's highly subjective isn't it ?

If we're going by number of slams then yes

If we're going by longest run as top seed then yes

He's pretty much as close as GOAT as you're gonna get

Totally. Personally I really don't like this GOAT term at all.

Maradona's still my footy 'GOAT', though I much prefer to call him my lifetime favourite, even though he didn't win more than anyone else (nor score more goals, which I consider a ridiculous yardstick anyway).

It all depends on what you put the highest value on, but I think a lot of Fed fans see him in that light largely because of his style of play. I'm no tennis buff by any stretch of the imagination, but in terms of how they moved and hit the ball, I'd put him up there with Edberg as two of the most graceful players I've seen.

GOAT GOAT GOAT!

Personally I'd like to see him bow out before his memory gets tarnished with labouring defeats.

However, I have feeling he's hanging on til Rio.

GOAT argument doesn’t stack up. it impossible to compare players form different eras as the ball, courts and equipment differ.

The only way is can be measured is by Stats in GS numbers, Fed wins. But in terms of Masters, its Nadal...and so on.

Completely pointless argument IMO. Its just impossible to measure definitively and always will be

By the way, if i was to judge GOAT by saying who was best at their peak then i'd go for Nadal

Metro Rafa has dominated Fed from an early age and head to head is 20-10, remembering most of these matches were played during Fed's peak years

I believe Djokovic will eclipse both of them although I wish it was Murray

Nadal never ceases to amaze me. Arsene should sign him up.
