Mirror contradiction on Fellaini

"Despite widespread talk of an Arsenal approach for permission to speak to Fellaini, the Mirror understands the Toffees are yet to receive a single inquiry about him"

"However, Wenger is unconvinced that £23m for Fellaini represents good value, and so far has not been prepared to commit to a bid that will trigger his release clause.

"There is bemusement at Everton about the north Londoners' apparent desire to undercut that release clause and attempt to get Fellaini for less than the stated £23m"

Lol so the Mirror themselves says Arsenal haven't contacted Everton yet David Maddock (Journo) says Wenger is unconvinced Fellaini is worth £23M and Everton are bemused at Arsenal's desire to undercut the release clause.

The reporter has contradicted himself and his sole motive is too wind up the Arsenal fans by inventing this nonsense. The reliable Gabrielle Marcotti says Arsenal are pushing hard for Fellaini money won't be an issue, it will be trying to convince him to join ahead of Chelsea, Man Utd etc

While I agree the story is the over active imagination of a journo, I disagree he has neccessarily contradicted himself.

He says Arsenal have not made a bid, but this does not mean Everton cannot know Wenger wants to pay less than the clause.

Its pretty clear the reporter doesn't know what hes talking about hes just speculating

If no inquiry has been made that means we aren't interested

Why does it mean we are not interested? Do all enquiries have to be made by June 12th?

It's all BS really and the result of people getting carried away reading things on twitter

John, you say the reporters sole motive is to wind up Arsenal fans. Now maybe look at it this way, fellaini does not play for Arsenal, does not have a contract with them, hut does play for Everton & does have a contract with Everton. Please explain how this can soley wind up Arsenal?

DJ come on, unless they have bugged Wengers home, how can they know that Wenger wants to pay less than the release clause when no enquiry has been made? Makes NO sense!

I'm fairly certain Wenger doesn't want to pay £23M- for a player who's not worth £23M!
