1. Watson
2. Cook
3. Amla
4. Kallis
5. KP
6. AB Devilliers (wk)
7. Al Hasan
8. Swann
9. S Ajmal
10. Steyn
11. Anderson.
4 seamers and 3 spinners and a long batting line up might do the trick. Could do with one more batsman maybe to boost that a bit

i dont know y but against india swann is not going to be effective.... the spinner that indians have struggled aginst most is saeed ajmal, and i wud pick him as the spinner. the rest i wud agree with indiasox

Yes.
Shanky
I have Ajmal. Also, I think two spinners are needed in India plus Vettori is pretty close to being classed an allrounder.

Surely this thread should be a world XI to beat England in England?

Kallis, Amla and Steyn would have to be in this team to play India in India.
In the 09/10 tour of India, Kallis averaged 67,66 (In the 07/08 tour 36 and 04/05 tour of India he averaged 88) while Amla got 3 100's in two tests averaging 490 (07/08 tour of India he averaged 61)! Steyn took 11 wickets at an average of 20,27 (07/08 he averaged 20,20 with 15 wickets). You'll battle to beat those stats in India.
You could argue the de Villiers should also be included.
For a team to play England in England G Smith is an obvious choice to open the batting averaging 79 and 62 over the last two tours of England in 03/04 and 07/08
