Lorenzo breaks collarbone, wants to race

Reigning world MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo broke his collarbone in a crash during the opening practice session at Assen yesterday.

He was flown to Barcelona for emergency surgery, then hopped straight back on the plane back to The Netherlands to seek medical clearance so he can start from last on the grid in tomorrow's race.

Meantime, rising star and potential title challenger Marc Marquez broke one of his little finger and a big toe in a crash during the third practice session, but is still expected to start too.

I know this isn't the first time bikers ride with broken bits, but I still think they're a bit mental!

Not many moto GP fans here I guess.
I have had a fair few close shaves on my CBR 650.
