Regardless of what you thought of the fight or you thought was winning or who would have won, did the ref make the correct call in counting Malik Scott out?
IMO, no it was the wrong call, Scott was up before the count of 10, and that is all you have to do to beat the count.
From the moment he was down to the moment he was considered not down, less than ten seconds past.
Maybe Scott should not have given the ref the opportunity, but the ref called it wrong and was only too willing to wave the fight off.
It is not the first time we have seen premature stoppages in Britain, and any foreign fighter might have to take that into consideration if thinking to fight here.

Should the Ref have counted Scott out?

he only has himself to blame
it may of been harsh but getting up at 9 is really pushing it

If the ref would have reached the count of 10 and Scott would still have been down, then he is out.
But this did not happen, he was up before the ref said 10, that is all that matters.
Incompetence by the ref......... I hope

Scott may have wanted no more, Scott probably should have rose at the count of 8, but, the ref has to do his job correctly too.
The fans lost out yet again.

Hmmm, the 10th count he was on his way up. Bit of a funny one but Scott cannot blame anybody but himself, and fair play to him he hasn't.

If no part of your body is touching the canvas apart from your feet, then you are considered up.
Scott was up before the ref could say 10 or you are out.

Scott didn't complained because he did want a way out, he was getting roughed up and didn't like it.
Chisora would have gotten the KO eventually, without a 9 count and you are out by the ref.

Obviously didn't want to know. Poor call from the ref yes, but Scott had given up.

the problem i had is if your counting someone out you have to say 10 no? he said 9 as he was rising then just waved his arms, ridiculous stoppage and the people who are saying its scotts fault for leaving it too late? wtf does it matter if he got up at 3 or 9 he beat the count
you dont end rugby games on 79mins 50 secs and then tell the losing team oh well your fault for leaving it too late

It's in a referees remit to protect the fighters/stop the fight if they are aren't fighting back or are in no condition to do so. Scott didn't look interested so the ref could say he was protecting him from further punishment, although I personally think that was a horrendous call by the ref

The decision was a KO, not a TKO, meaning the ref said he counted Scott out.
Which did not happen.
