Some Football Chat...

Thought I'd use this forum to actually talk about football matters...

Reports today that Boris Pandza is set to sign after lowering his wage demands.

My question is, should we be going for Pandza, who no one has seen, or use the money to get Mohsni signed up.

All reports from pre season suggest Mohsni is a class act but his record at other clubs does suggest he could end up causing problems with his attitude.

So, Mohsni or Pandza.

Both would be ideal!

Think Kal Naismith is on his way out. Not that I expect him to have been on big wages but he did sign a new deal last season so no doubt he was getting a decent pay.

Think he scored at the weekend for Accrington and their gaffer has been talking him up. So a move looks like it'll happen.

To be honest, i'm peeved off that we are not making some loan signings of some of english clubs finest young talent. The old pals act for me never worked before and about time we get scouting and not listening to the Mo Johnston's Ian Fergusons and so on and so on. Edu cost us 2.5 mil and god knows what on wages. Mo Johnston laughing all the way to the bank that year.

My view is that under Walter, he has been able to use his fast contacts in the game at the same time neglecting the creation of a proper scouting network.

I think either one would do you boys but don't you think there are Scottish, young players who could come in now and be ready for when you return to the top flight?

It might be that these 2 are just as good as anything Ally could have got in Scotland, if so I will just shut up

If it's a choicce between the two go for moshni as he has played with the team and by all accounts has settled well.

its a nice notion that we could just pick up some kids and develope them into a team, doesn't work though, you need experience at any level.

also how many epl managers are going to let their starlets loose amongst kickers and cloggers in the scottish 3rd tier.

we need to be realistic, I think ally's done well signing wise this year so far, and whilst we've only played friendlies winning and not conceding are good habits to develope, we cant play the kind of attacking football we want to see when the mid players are not confident in our defence, we need stability at the back as a building point.

a right good CB pairing will help our young player bloom.

Apparently Lee Camp may be signing as backup keeper.

Its easy to say, sign up young scottish kids and throw them into the first team. But the pressure and scrutinty old firm players come under regardless of the level we are playing can destroy them if they arent ready.

Said before about this play the youngsters notion. Barry McKay was one of the highlights last season yet when he had 2 games in a row when he was useless (young players are often inconsistent add to that he is a winger) some of the abuse I heard directed at him was disgusting.

the same folk that say we should play kids are the same folk that claim ally has no vision and will also claim that we don't have to spend on 2 new CB's in div 2.

Ally's vision for building our team should be based on the security of having a decent CB pairing and allowing our younger players the confidence to go and play, with as smattering of experience and brawn in there as well.

That's what I see Ally doing.
