Anne Keothavong retires

Former British No 1 Anne Keothavong has announced her retirement from professional tennis at the age of 29.

Keothavong reached a career-high ranking of No 48 in 2009 and made seven WTA semi-final appearances, as well as winning 20 International Tennis Federation (ITF) singles titles.

Hi Ad, only just seen this.

Always hard decision and sad for a player to retire.

Anne helped keep flag flying and probably helped inspire new generation in Watson and Robson.

It's tough on tour and to make it to be one of top 50 in world is quite an achievement.

I wish her well in here retirement and hope Johanna Konta can fulfill potential and reach top 50 too.
