Reading quote from Ally after last nights game which suggest we may not be able to play some of our new signings as trialists at all...
“I’m led to believe we can only play guys like Nicky Law, Jon Daly and Nicky Clark, guys whose registrations were all with Scottish clubs last time."
“I don’t think we can play any of the lads who were in other countries but that’s fine and we just need to get on with it."
So out of Bell, Smith, Foster, Peralta, Law, Clark and Daly, Peralta, Smith and Foster will not be able to play.
Whilst I'm 100% sure we will cope fine, it's quite annoying that we are only 3 days away from our season kicking off and the rules still dont look like they have been clarified.
Talks about signing Mohsni or Pandza may as well be forgotten until September considering this new problem.
I'll add that my only annoyance this summer has been the lack of a CB pairing being nailed down. From reports of pre season games, Mohsni/Cribari partnership looks the way we will go but thats only if we can get a deal done with Mohsni, and as I've just mentioned, he cant feature until September.
McCulloch/Cribari fills me with dread to be honest.
New Trialist Issue?

it was of no surprise we lost a goal early doors last night wi mcculloch and cribari in defence

A sloppy goal from a set peice as well. Exactly the issue we had last season.
Really dont see any of the current partnerships possible working to be honest. Not in the long term anyway.
Faure shouldnt be at RB like last night either. If he plays then its got to be at CB. I'd then use McAusland at RB and Black in the DM role.

I'm still confident of getting solid results without any of the new signings but I'd like to see us really dominate and show we mean business early doors this season.
So no sloppy defending and gifting goals on the cheap.
Considering the way our squad played last year then I'm not expecting us to play like that. Unless they have come onto a game since having a full pre season and time to bond properly.
Heres hoping!

continually playing players out of position is what boils ma pi%% wi mccoist, i can accept a job needing done every now and then but its consistant selection of these players out of position, surely to fak he realises or knows that faure is a rb etc

The angle I'm coming from is, if there's a chance we might break rules in doing something with players we've signed, the media, tims, and all others will be all over the top of it.
Last thing I want is our league campaign rather derailed, or hit with a points deduction or something before its even got underway, coz we honestly felt we needed to add Daly, Law or Clarke to the first XI in order to beat teams like Albion, Forfar, Brechin or Stranraer

You would be hoping that the club/SFA/SFL/SPFL etc would have all been in contact to see what the rules were before hand.
You would hope anyway. Nothing surprises me in Scottish Football.
I'm happy to leave them out if there is any doubt but I expect Ally to pick Daly and Law for the weekends game.
Just want to see us dominate the opening games this season and set us for the rest of the season. No needing extra time to settle ties, falling behind in the first couple of minutes of games or going into panic mode and needing to find a goal in the last few moments to equalise.

It's the 3rd tier of Scottish football god sake not the Bundesliga
Hope the Dons draw you lot in a cup, under McInnis this is our year to lift the SC and take it home to it's rightful place
