Group C
Sideshow
Team: Lazio
Odds 2 – 1
Previous tournament performances: Semi-Final, Group-Stages
Ranked: 18th
Sideshow looked set to be a formidable tournament player after his great debut In the EPL Tournament reaching the semi-finals; however the following tournament saw him labour to a play-off defeat to Choice and then go missing for a while. Nevertheless he has returned and looks ready to better his debut performance and I think he will do it. In a tough group with players that can all beat each other, his team Lazio should see him through the group stages and I believe he will go all the way in this tournament. Out of all the players in the knock-outs he looks the best equipped. No pressure then.
Verdict: Winner
Kent
Team: Siena
Odds: 3 – 1
Previous tournament performances: Semi-final, final, group stages, final, final, final, winner, Quarter-Finals, Winner, Semi-Final, Quarter-Final
Ranked: 2nd
Carrying the tag of overwhelming favourite did Kent no favours last tournament as his Cardiff team crashed out in the first knock-out hurdle. After winning his second title he just seems to have gone a bit naff, only he really knows why. I believe sheer talent alone will see him navigate this group and also take a scalp in the knock-out round, he might get back to his best and win the tournament, but I can’t see it myself.
Verdict: Semi-Final
Kamran
Team: Catania
Odds: 7 – 1
Previous Tournament Performances: Semi-Final, Group Stages
Ranked: 18th
As predicted Kamran found the last tournament much harder than his debut as he went crashing out in the group stages with some bad performances to boot. Well I’m afraid it’s only going to get harder for him in this group as he will probably have to beat two of Sideshow, Kent or TopLad to qualify and I cannot see that happening myself. In an easier group I would tip him to probably qualify, but not this one.
Verdict: Group-Stages
TopLad
Team: Roma
Odds: 6 – 1
Previous Tournament Performances: Group-Stages, Quarter-Finals, Group-Stages, Semi-Final
Ranked: 16th
The revitalised TopLad posted his best ever tournament performance last time out and he was unlucky not to go all the way. He is going to have to pull off some even better performances in this group if he is to progress, beating Kamran is a must, but then Sideshow and Kent stand in his way and I think he will come up short. Like so many players he has a good tournament, but will follow it up with a disappointing one.
Verdict: Group- Stages
Note: The two best third place finishers go through. This means in Group A & B which contains five players, will see their third place finishers result against the players who finished bottom of their groups discounted to even it up with the four player Group C.
Predicted Group Standings
1. Sideshow
2. Kent
----------------------
3. TopLad
4. Kamran
