That does't make sense, if you shorten the field surely the long ball will be even more effective because it will be that much closer to the goal. I would have thought if they wanted to negate the long ball t would have mad more sense to lengthen the pitch.

Unless he thinks it will mean it will go for a goal kick, but I don't beleive they have taken that much off.

Apparently there are a few linesmen with pacemakers in this division, It's a health and safety thing.
