Today and The EPL on NBC

A lot has already been said about today's game. Yes, the ref was dodgy but so were we. As soon as I saw that we only had one defender on the bench I started to worry that Gibbs or Bac would get hurt. What happened? Both got hurt. The replay of Bac landing on his head was particularly gruesome. The man is lucky that he was able to walk off! Going to Turkey and getting a result is going to be a heck of a task, but I believe that we can. Full credit to Villa for taking their chances, even if they were a bit fortunate. I know that we are all screaming out for reinforcements, and today just validates things even more. We only had 4 shots on target the whole match. Giroud's goal was a tasty one, but apart from Tomas blazing over the bar and Guzan saving a couple of point blank shots we looked poor. There was no creativity to our game. Game one is done and in the books, and I don't care enough to say anything more about it. Over the past 2 years I've become numb to us losing. The same old problems are there each year. I will always support my Arsenal, but if they don't care about the product on the pitch...why should I?

On a positive note. For those of in the US, I've been really impressed with NBC's coverage of the EPL so far. The fact that we can watch every EPL game this season on TV, on your computer, tablet, or smart phone is incredible. Gone are the days of having to pay $15 a month for Fox Soccer Plus. Being an Arsenal supporter I was usually lucky enough (hard to say that right now) to watch them on FSC or FSC+ each weekend, but now I can watch any game that I want. Kuddos to them for promoting the EPL to the masses.

Sorry for deleting your comment Lucas...just felt good to do it. I figured if you were going to act like a 12 year old, so should I.

you called the ref dodgy, as in he acted in devious way to help villa win....is that not a childish view?

the ref should be investigated....he's a criminal

While I watched the liverpool game in the pub, I did try to stream it on the phone via NBC to see how we'll it worked. Not having access to wifi I didn't hold out much hope, but it loaded in less than 30secs and was a perfect picture. I only let it run for a minute or two but it was top quality with no lag or let down in picture quality. NBC have changed the landscape of football watching in the states

Lucas-The second penalty was very very soft. Why are you Liverpool fans obsessed with Arsenal anyways?

He also stopped play every time we had an advantage situation. I give Villa credit for beating us, but the ref played a part. If you watched the match you would have known that.

For someone who says they don't care about today's game you sure do moan a lot about it

Respected-Fair enough.

On another note, I streamed the Norwich-Everton game on my iPad and the picture was amazing. Glad to hear that it looked good on your phone as well. At the end of the day I'm just glad that NBC didn't butcher this. As a fan of football in the US we have seen the game grow leaps and bounds.

I fully expect NBC to shift the goal posts next season and go ppv or require a subscription.

Where in US btw?

NBC has stated that they won't charge anything extra for the 3 years that they have the EPL rights in the US. Minnesota is where I reside.
