david price splits from trainer

from the bbc

heavyweight David Price has announced a split with his long-time trainer Franny Smith. The 30-year-old, who has has been under the guidance of his former amateur coach since he turned professional in 2009 and won the British, Commonwealth and English heavyweight titles in that time, suffered back-to-back defeats to American Tony Thompson.

"I have made up my mind that I have to start a new chapter in my career and I am sad that I will be starting this without Franny, but for me to achieve my goal as heavyweight champion of the world, I feel that I need a change," he said.

dont think a new trainer will do any good, the guy doesnt seem to have the heart when under pressure and thats not something that can be trained into you

Gotta move south David ,maybe even Tony Sims ,or alternatively go west to New York.

He needs a complete overhaul, there were some touting him as the next big thing...

He's no spring chicken at 30 either, so it'll be harder for any trainer to completely overhaul his whole boxing mantra when he's been so used to a set way for so long.

Obviously boxers are boxing later and later into their careers these days but I honestly think Price is finished. He just doesn't have the head or the heart for it when he's hurt or under pressure
