Yeah.
I'm all for it.
Shut darn the English football season for the whole of January & into Feb if need be so that............................
The World cup goes ahead in a sane climate when hosted by Qatar in 2022.
just this once. I agree with Platini, For 150 years we have had it (European clubs) all our own way, completing our regular seasons..then playing 'Summer football' at virtually every world cup.
This affects us as TOWN fans too.....!
because by then, We will be a premier League side & might have players in the England squad.
It's garbage turning out to games in Wet, Windy, freezing cold anyway.
Darn side... I'm against this nation holding the comp though if it's going to be like the F1 , Moto GP & tennis comps, were no locals turn up, & there are only the foreigners who have bothered to travel to the event.
But yeah. imagine finishing the regular season in the UK..(maybe upto 60 games).then turning up to a desert kingdom where believe me... 50c is no joke. & that is shade temps don't forget... expect 15 to 20c hotter in the direct sunlight....
ask yer grandad as he chased Rommel backwards & forwards across the desert for details..
Is Platini right,
or is he wrong ?
Doesn't it make Sense !

It's common knowledge Qatar got the world cup because of a few backhanders to the FIFA committee. It was and still is a diabolical decision giving no consideration for football fans the world over. It was a decision made out of self interest and greed.
It was said at the time it would be too hot, now they want to shut the football season down for 2 months to have it in the winter !
Totally ridiculous.
The Premier League/Sky will not tolerate it...this is the battle FIFA have wanted with the Premier League for ages....it could be more interesting than the world cup itself, especially if England don't qualify..

Just a question on that Jacko !
How....What do the South American teams do when the Comp is held darn there mid way through their seasons !
Platini has a point, Euro countries have had it all their own way since the World Cup started...
But I agree, Ridiculous decision, And a blatant 'back hander' carry on to hold it in a desert Kingdom anyway.
England can't fail to qualify once TOWN are a premier League side & supplying players in '22

The problem darn is the contract the Prem have with Sky, this is a worldwide product which Sky pay multi millions for and rake in multi millions in advertising...
It is 9 years away I suppose so maybe they will work round it, they may have to do...I don't think the S American leagues have the same worldwide exposure do they..and most of their better players ply their trade overseas anyway..
