Scapegoat time - runners

Who will be this season's scapegoat?

The man to blame as "not fit for AVB's 433 and high line" when things don't work.

Last season our top contenders were:

Friedel - line-happy
Dawson - slow
Walker - rash
Ekotto - sloppy
Huddlestone - fat

Competition will be tough this year, as the squad is now filled with players AVB has bought in his time here. Of the others, they are mainly players that were previously deemed suitable for the system.

THE 2013/14 RUNNERS

Dawson.
Last year's favourite suffered a setback by winning his place back, and winning the manager over. Well back in the running again.

Rose.
This young buck has come up along the rails nicely. Establishing himself nicely and gaining popularity all the time. Calls for a recall for the previous runner Ekotto showing his promise.

Walker
A previously promising candidate that has had a resurgence. He joins the previous two, with a poor record of one goal conceded in 5 games simply unacceptable.

Lennon
This fella has made a name for himself again. Has a surge every couple of years but never truly feels the complete ire of the fans as he has a horrible knack of performing well during a season.

Sigurdsson
A new runner, this one never really entered the running despite some patchy early form last year. Now getting tipped heavily, just needs a few games to really get backed.
