Obviously, we didn't succeed in signing Rooney, and Jose denied ever considering using Mata as part of the deal.
However, Inasmuch as Jose had severally stated that Mata was part of his plans, he had done otherwise, by intentionally leaving him on the bench!
Yesterday's press conference was the final nail in the coffin. He made it clear, that Oscar is going to be his preferred choice for the no. 10 role, while the more natural no. 10: Mata, would have to play on the right!
Let's not be fooled guys...Jose, for some strange reason doesn't like Mata.
If he was planning to use Mata on the right, like he said, why did he pay a whooping £30 M for willian?
Jose had already got it figured out, he knew that Mata might get frustrated, and decide to leave, hence; the purchase of willian.
What I don't get is this: Why must there be controversy surrounding Jose, anywhere he goes?
When he was unveiled at Cobham, and he had his first press conference, I actually thought Jose was a changed man, but the truth is...Jose is a green snake in a green grass.
Anyway, let's see how well the fans would react to his constant omission of Mata.
It'll dawn on him, that some of the fans no more worship him like a mini coaching god, he thinks he is, when all the placards would be out, with this written on it: 'Jose out!'
It'll be a rude awakening, for the 'not-so-happy-one'
I'm losing interest in watching Chelsea already...even when we went through some of the worst periods, I never felt this way!

We love Jose & he came back...now he's busting up the team...
one or two people need to get a reality check & have confidence in the egg man
in saying that....i'd like to see Mata playing more..he aint suddenly become just average overnight..

Jose is obsessed that every player in the squad can defend when needed and does not shirk that part of the game. If you ask me he is omitting Mata from the squad purely because it is not his strongest attribute forgetting the positives he offers going forward.

Finally someone speaking sense. I have said from the start that Mata is a liability when we lose the ball upfield, and that alone is what is keeping Mata out of the starting 11. His defending is shocking at times. I know this wont be taken well, but Torres wont be sold by Jose as at least when he loses the ball he fights to get it back although clumsily at times but Jose loves a grafter.

How is Lampard keeping Mata out of the team?
When Lampard doesn't play we have Ramieres, Mikel, Van Ginkel coming into CM. Does that mean even these 3 are keeping Mata out of the team?

The argument is that Oscar can play in Lamps position and leave a space for Mata...........not buying it myself, but that is the point being made

Yeah but If Lampard is not playing we have other players who will play that position. Does that mean every midfielder is keeping out Oscar from playing in midfield?

Oscar as a deep plying playmaker seems to have just come from Chelsea fans desperate to shoehorn as many of our young attacking players into the first XI as possible, he has absolutely no experience of playing there for any length of time.
We should have bought a 'tempo setter' ever since we missed out on Modric, but that doesn't automatically mean that Oscar is the answer.
