Why did we take the foot of the gas

when we were 4-0 nil up we should have continued to press forward and gone for more goals. Don't take this as a criticism of Man City but I felt that if we continued to press forward we would have been able to get more goals, and thus help us with our goal difference. By taking our foot of the pedal we allowed the rags to start putting our defence under pressure which was not necessary at all.

I do have some questions to United fans and would like decent answers. Why were cheap offers made for players in the summer? Was it because the money wasn’t there to buy the £40m+ players? Why Moyes and not a world renown and proven manager for a world class club? Was it because he has got results on a shoestring budget? How much are the interest payments on their debt? What is the real status regarding income/expenditure with the United? Is it getting to the point where the Glazers are finally going to have a couple of seasons to extract the maximum from the club and then put it up sale with the tag – ‘Good investment opportunity’
----------------------

in regards to the summer signings by all accounts the glazers were not happy with how things went and wanted answers from woodward in regards to why a big named signing wasnt brought in.

financially the debt isnt a major issue, we are getting some big money coming in from various sponsors and the loan is being covered and funds are still available for the manager to spend.
we also have a new shirt deal in due which is expected to bring in BIG money.

the debt is now down below 300 million so is well under halfway to being paid.

people also tend to look past the fact we have spent close to 120 in 3 seasons.

Moyes seemed to be fergies choice to take over, maybe he saw a bit of himself in moyes, who knows.

You guys taking your foot off the gas cost me 8 points in ff as I didn't get my clean sheet bonuses. United had no right scoring against you lot the way they played.

Fair enough. But I still have the suspicion that the Glazers are in for the short term and their dividend is what tops the list.

If a player can take a free kick like that any club who plays him deserves to score.
You should drop your City defenders though, the new style of play means we won't be the defensive colossus under Mancini... that said the fullbacks should pick up goals and assists x

Ashton,

i dont think so mate.

with all this cash due to come in ( also the Chevy deal) and the debt being managed the club is a cash cow.

its costing i believe around 70 million a year on the debt.

once thats gone utds financial firepower will be frightening.

the glazers would be mad to give that up.

If what you say is correct then what we may see in years to come is the east / west conflict writ large on the battlefield of Manchester.

i think so mate.

i dont think any club will be able to compete financially with utd once the Debt is gone unless it has a rich owner like yourself and chelsea ( which isnt a pop).

in terms of being self funded utd will be miles ahead of anyone else.

Unless the success dries up - All these companies in the Far East will move on if United cease to be an attractive platform to sell their product and 'International' fans are notoriously fickle.

possibly, but i cant see that happening to be honest mate.

people go on about yesterdays result, but in the grand scheme of things its 3 points.

the likes of city, Chelsea and utd will be sharing trophies around for the next god knows how many years because they all have too much money to fail.

"too much money to fail."

I've heard that (or words to that effect) before.
