Its well documented that David Healys last international goal was against San Marino way back in 2008.
Tonight he struggled again to make an impact against a back four made up entirely of part-time players. His one decent effort was well covered by the Faroes goalie.
Is he now a liability to the side. Surely not even Nigel Worthington could have seen "positives" in Healys performance tonight. Yes he played his heart out but lets be honest he struggled to make any sort of impact against one of the worst International sides in Europe.
Surely he is now finished.
Is Healys international career now over

Roger, his international career is far from over. Who else do NI have? he will still be flogging about windsor in five years lol. Cant see any talent coming through at all.

You would probably have scored against the Faroes tonight Alex Did you see the amount of room they gave Mc Court for his goals. All the defenders just stood back and let him run with the ball.

I was just looking at NIrelands group table.
If Nireland had beaten the Faroes away they would now actually probably be favourites to at least finish second in the group. Heres how the table would have looked
Italy P 6 Pts 16
NIre P 6 Pts 11
Slov P 7 Pts 11
Serb P6 Pts 8
Est P 7 Pts 7
Far P 8 Pts 4

Second rate striker who never proved he could do it at top level football.
Failed all over the place in the premiership. Failed in Scottish football, where some pub teams could make a decent fist of it.
Yesterdays man in yester-years team.

According to Gerry Armstrong, Ally Mc Coist considers Healy to be the best finisher at Rangers. Really!!
That would explain why he never gets a game for Rangers!!

Your right Spangles , totally right. International football isnt "Top Level" football. What is ? Intergalactic football maybe.
He never proved it by scoring a hat-trick against Spain (future Euro and World champions), a few against Sweden , a goal against England, 1 against Denmark and the Germans.
True his club career has flattered to deceive. But is club football a higher level than international football???

Maybe Spangles can come back on these boards and tell us all how his son scored 35 international goals etc some day ,and Im sure he will be happy to hear people telling him that his son has achieved nothing

Well in fairness Healy is "yesterdays man". And i for one would never take his acheivement of scoring a hat-trick against Spain or finishing as the top scorer in Euro Qualification for 2008 away from him.
If i was a NIreland striker on the fringes of the side i would be fuming with Worhtington for picking him to be honest

I never said he wasnt Roger. But to say he hasnt achieved anything in his career is simply daft , as so lovely pointed out by the WUM-On-The-Run there.
He needs regular football , be it the lower leagues , but thats what he needs. To play week in and week out.
