Good time to play Dortmund?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24238500

Strange time of the year to announce this. Hopefully it demoralises them a bit. Dortmund fan must really hate Munich.

Looking forward to tonight hopefully we keep the good form going even if it's a reserve team.

Is that not illegal? Surely Lewandowski would have gone behind Dortmund's backs to arrange this deal?

Perhaps I am reading this situation wrong, and the point I am making will be controversial to football fans who deserve more.

But- why didn't Dortmund sell him in the summer? Yes, it is poor on the fans- but isn't seeing one of their best players leave for nothing even worse?

Dortmund must surely have realised that even with Lewandowski it would have been a struggle challenging for the title or the Champions League, and likewise it is very unlikely they wouldn't qualify for next season's tournament?

Have they gave up on valuable money (what we talking here £20m-£25m even with his contractual situation?) just to appease the fans for a few months when he signed for Munich for free anyway?

It is really strange.

very similar to the RVP situation. except he doesn't have the injury record and 3 years younger than RVP.

I dont think there is a right or wrong answer here

He;s in the last year if his contract. Bayern offered millions for him over the summer but Dortmund rejected it and allowing him to leave for free. A pre contract agreement is perfectly legit.

Don't think he'd have gone for that sort of amount Marcie.

I'd be a bit surprised if he moved in Jan though, as he'd be cup tied for the CL with Bayern and at the same time would miss out on playing the k.o. rounds for BVB. I know CL isn't the be-all and end-all, but it's still Europe's major club competition.
