Now I'm all for charity but doesn't charity begin at home??

How are we able to afford having no sponsor? Someone explain this to me cos I'm stumped!
Shirt Sponsor?

Or I could mention all the semi-finals we have been to in recent seasons. Compared to your 1.

You gave yourself a 5 out of 10?
Total football to a team that only score from throw ins?
3-0 down in half an hour, fans leaving in there thousands? Barely a shot in anger?
5 out of 10?
America has really got to you ain't it... Did you feel the net tender gained some good soccerball yardage from his 6 yard punts?
I'm beginning to catch the drift of your username now, you really are a demented-poor-mans-salgado...

The way I see it is:
1. Its not good that we couldn't find anyone to sponsor us. Obviously we'll be losing out in revenue and as I can't imagine Venkys taking the hit that'll mean a further reduction on what is already looking like a negative transfer budget (basically about the same as we had under the Walker Trust so far).
2. However if it just wasn't going to happen then promoting a charity is the next best thing and a pretty intelligent alternative to just leaving the shirt blank (or tippexing our club website on like Burnley once did).

Let's have a look at how many semi finals bolton have been in, in the last 10 years and how many we have been in, just like boasting about 3 points in front, last 10 years doesn't count again obviously.

There were sponsor offers but they were quite low pay and Venlys didn't want to commit to a multiple year contract for so little.

Crown was £5m was that for 3 years?
Not many businesses are throwing £5m round at the moment. I'd wager if a £2m for 3 years is on the table it'd make sense to wait 12 months, gain some publicity and hope bigger offers come in next time...

^^ That exactly. Even Crown's £5m for 3 years is fairly cheap when it comes to sponsor deals. Venkys should be good at this sort of think, they are businessmen after all.

Yep, Crown though a local firm so perhaps sat nicely.
As said, I've not a problem with it as a business decision but nor can it solely be considered an out and out gesture of kindness...
I was less sure than some about the look of the feathery crown type thing, the red goes well with the trim though.
I was tempted though I still prefer a good toffs shirt...

5 million for 3 years is shocking, rather the club didn't have the money and the charity get the exposure.

Stoke are an excellent side. They did the double over you. Nice Americanism's, some of them really are cringeworthy. You forgot pk and goal conversion.
Salgado? He's just a poor mans Ivan Campo. Nice username as well, way to support your team.
I'm off for a short while now, gonna have a Budweiser and a chilli dog, so Moscow.
