does the last of us pick up?

hey people...

just got round to getting my hands on the last of us ......and im only near enough the start ......but my question is does the game pick up near the middle of the game as im struggling for now to get into it .....and the controls really irk me aswell........

im a huge fan of old school survival horror games ..but i just cant get into this yet.....

does it justify the amazing reviews its getting?

I remember that bit, assuming you haven't done it yet, you should take out the walking ones first, they often walk out on their own, so you can kill them without being heard or seen. Don't try and kill them right next to other zombies, sometimes you might even need to sneak all the way past them and kill the furthest, then go back to the others. I think that's one of the only parts where you can't sneak past without killing any.

If I remember right, immediately after jumping down, turn around and there is a dark corridor type bit, where a zombie walks through on his own, kill it first while it's in there (away from others). Then there's one right at the back, go and kill that, and there should be 3 left then, 1 runner, 1 clicker and 1 stood still. I'm not sure which is easier to kill then but as long as you're unseen it should be ok. They usually won't see you, but if you walk directly infront of a runner they'll spot you, likewise if you go too fast right past a clicker, go really slow, even in crouch.

It helps if you just wait a bit and watch where they walk, as they will be going around the same path in loops.

Also if a clicker(s) spots you, you don't have to fight them, because if you run and hide, you usually lose them. They'll run right up to you but then start searching again, just keep still. Don't worry about shooting too though, because the general mechanic is the more you shoot, the more ammo enemies drop.

when do the stalkers get involved? Sound scary as fack.

Not sure when you first see one, but they're pretty much the same as normal zombies except they run around a lot and spot you easily. Best have your shotgun at the ready

If it's just 1 clicker sneak up to it(really slowly) and kill it.

Late review, but I honestly think it was class from start to finish. First time I have been genuinely scared by a game for a while, the gameplay was pretty good, character development was great as was the story and visuals.

Only downside is I thought the ending seemed a bit hollow, but thats just me.

Bad ending because it made out like you had a choice.

One would presume they ended it that way to leave room for a sequel, otherwise the logical thing would surely have been to give the gamer a choice in which decision to make.
