vs one of the Klitschko's !!
Lennox Lewis has told Russian promoters that he will come back to fight one of the Klitschko brothers for the biggest purse in boxing history.
The 48-year-old, who is still the most recent undisputed world heavyweight champion, was offered $50million (£31.3m) in Moscow at the weekend while attending Wladimir Klitschko’s successful defence of his world titles against Alexander Povetkin.
Lewis responded by promising to return to the ring for $100m (£62.6m).
The promoters are considering doubling their bid and Lewis says: ‘That is my price tag and it is under discussion. I have told them I can be ready in six months and I am in provisional training.’

Lennox Lewis planning comeback

^^^^^^
Might want to change his name to "the toenail-breaker"

Having googled this story it just looks like a re-hash of an older story from 2012.
Shame as I think a rematch between Lewis and Vitali would generate so much interest and re-ignite what has sadly turned into a graveyard division.

Lewis has said it is not true. Hope that's right. No reason for him to fight again. Unlike Hatton, who tried to leave boxing with a win, Lewis does not have a loss in his last fight.

Gunner but it´s not as if Lewis left the sport with a perfect record either. He has two knockouts to his name.
The truth is that Lewis is probably wise to stay out of the ring as I doubt he is now anywhere near as good as he was a decade ago.
But at the same time I would love to see Lewis come back even if it´s just for one fight against Vitali as it could re-ignite the entire Heavyweight division.
I personally would shell out on pay per view to watch a Lewis comeback just as I´m sure many people would.
A Lewis vs Vitali fight would generate a ridiculous amount of money and they could probably afford to pay both fighters 100 million to make this happen.

I know Superb, but too many boxers go out on their back. I think he made the right decision like Calzaghe. I do think knockouts to Rahman and McCall, who were not that fantastic puts him down a few notches as far as all time greats are concerned. Apart from money which I guess he does not need I don't really see what he can gain.

Gunner I personally think that Lewis is one of the all-time great heavyweights and I think he would have given any of the all-time greats a real fight.
I don´t even really count the Rahman defeat as Lewis didn´t take the fight seriously (not properly training and turning up overweight) and he absolutely destroyed Rahman in the re-match.
I think that Lewis has plenty to gain from coming back. Let´s be honest he is not remembered in as good a light as he should be.
If Lewis were to come back and beat Vitali he would once again be Heavyweight Champion of the world, even if it was just the WBC belt and that would surely secure his place in history as a true all-time great - something that many people don´t consider him to be at this point.
He could then retire again knowing that he sealed his place in Heavyweight boxing history.
As much as I respect the Klitschko´s I think that there is a real arrogance from them that nobody is going to take any of their belts anytime soon.
Clearly the plan for them is that Vitali will soon retire and that Wladimir will pick up the WBC belt making him undisputed Champion of the World.
It´s as if they know for a fact that nobody is going to depose Wladimir which is why there is no rush for Vitali to retire.
For the sake of the division and the sport in general somebody needs to come along and break up this duopoly in Heavyweight Boxing and I think that at this time Lewis is the only fighter who potentially could.

Lewis has nothing to prove.
I watched the Vitali fight again last night after reading some of these posts.
Lewis obviously never had his best night and he took some punishment but he also landed a lot of good shots on Vitali obviously due to cuts etc...
No-one seems to notice that the Lewis jab did more damage than anything when Lewis caught Klitschko with the jab his head would go rocking back everytime .
The cuts on the eye was one of the worst I have saw in boxing and the doc was correct in stopping it.

I agree with Gunnerbegood.
Look at Roy Jones Jr. He ended up getting sparked out by Antonio Tarver and other bums that he wouldn't even have looked at earlier in his career.
One of the all time greats wasted it by staying in the ring too long.

Looks like we're stuck with the Klitzchko stranglehold over the Heavyweight division for several more years to come then
RIP Heavyweight Division
