I've got to say how knee-jerk football is these days is frankly embarrassing.

Walcott has proven himself for years with England and people are elevating Townsend ahead of him on the basis of one game against a country with a population equivalent to Bristol who also had half of their team out.

It's the exact same with this Januzaj guy, the media has went into overdrive about him playing for England again on the back of one game. I'm not going to suggest he will be anywhere near as disappointing as Macheda, but do people remember the hype about him after United beat Villa?

I don't know why opposition fans don't like Walcott, he's a smashing player who is always totally committed: keeps himself out of the media and usually gives his all. People recognise he has limitations.

By the way I'm sure Walcott would have thrived last night running at Montenegro.

Any knowledgable Utd fan will tell you we've been excited by the kid for a while now. Whilst i agree it's knee jerk in terms of the media, I find it unlikely the lad won't make it with us.
