Jose Enrique

I cannot understand how some of your fans are reacting to signing him.

He's been linked to Man U, Barca, Milan, Valencia and way, way more.

I've seen nearly all his games for us, and I'm yet to see him beaten for pace or strength. He had Ronaldo in his back pocket every time he played against him. He had Walcott in his back pocket. In fact, I can't remember any winger ever getting the better of him. Here's a stat or two I got from another forum to back it up:
"1 on 1, Enrique's very hard to beat. Happened only 9 times last season, compared to A. Cole (38), Clichy (26), Baines (24), Evra (23)"
"LB Tackling Stats Comparison: Enrique: 61 (84% won) Evra: 80 (76% won) Baines: 84 (74% won) Cole: 100 (67% won)"
"Out of Baines, Evra, Cole, Clichy and Enrique, Enrique conceded the least fouls (in fact conceded 50% less than any of his contemporaries)"

He's a great long passer for a defender and an amazing dribbler.
"LB Successful Dribble Stats Comparison: Enrique: 65 Evra: 26 Baines: 26 Cole: 17
(what's more, only N'Zogbia and Nani in the whole of the league beat this record!)"

He's on okay crosser (not great really) but with Carroll in the box, it might not matter so much!

His one major flaw is his short passing. It's pretty poor!

If you qualify for the Champion's League and he continues as he is, he'll soon be playing for Spain, and probably be accepted as the best LB in the world.

"Yet know one else has come in for him, I wounder why?"

Could it be that they didn't want him? Yes. However, it shows that the journos watching him and making up these rumours thought he was adequate to play for those teams...

More borrowed money being spent. This really has got Leeds written all over it.

Where to begin with an imbecile like you? Well, firstly, United's debt is manageable because we lay Champions League football every season. Liverpool don't. I'd love to know where some of you think this money is coming from that d.gleash is spending this summe,r because it sure as sheet aint from John Henry, he can't afford it for one thing. It's borrowed money, and to be able to pay it back Liverpool MUST qualify for the CL THIS COMING SEASON. However, given their current squad just avoiding relegation would be a minor miracle.

And as for your goalkeeper comment, your club spent £35 million of someone else's money on someone with less footballing talent as a wardrobe.

The idea that you value a players ability to positively contribute to any given teams level of play, based on nothing other than what other clubs have shown interest in him, is indeed stupidity of the highest order.
Bravo

Class players attract top clubs, that's why none of the top side went in for Enrique. He's an average player, who's joined an average club. Your Sir are a simpleton, if you think otherwise.

Well you could begin by understanding that John Henry is the figurehead of an organization the consists of dozens of wealthy individuals, and is not at all reliant just on his personal wealth.
You say you would love to know where we think this money is coming from.
Well, come on, enlighten us.
You seem to have all the facts to hand as regards this borrowed money.
Give us the details, shows us the links to these facts you posses.
The reason your not sure were to begin with me, is because you have nothing relating to any facts to contribute, except your ingrained bitterness towards Liverpool FC, which will always be with you wether you have 19 titles, or 99 titles.

When Liverpool bought Torres, nobody else came in for him, and there are countless other examples that disprove your stupid point.
Think before posting.

haha, Who is going to replace us?, Liverpool?, Spurs?

Even without Cesc and Nasri we sill have a better team than the teams said.

--------------

Nice to see another high profile team producing some summer turmoil this year.

It was us last year, and of course our predicament was a lot worse... but guess what, your club has started to become the laughing stock as your best players want to leave a ship which has started to spring some nasty leaks.

It's an irrelevant point. Disprove the other stuff and I'll give you a button (or maybe a baseball bat, to help you in the riots... y'know in London)

When Liverpool bought Torres

Liverpool paid a lot of money for Torres, and he wasn't established in the Prem.Prem managers know what they're going to get with Enrique, and even with his price set at a mere 6 million,Liverpool seem to be the only takers, me smells something fishy about the player.
