So what else is there worth watching?

Adrian Newey has delivered to the Red Bull team a car that in the right hands would be 5 seconds a lap faster than any other rival. The Red Bull management have delivered that car to their favoured son at the clear expense of the other non favoured employee. Rocky has done his bit by keeping the favoured one under control and prevented him from behaving like a child and making a hash of things.

The remaining races have similar levels of downforce so Newey should win the lot. The rival teams have written off 2013 and will not bring any new upgrades.

So we have BTCC, DTM, MotoGP and Superbikes. But we also have an intriguing battle between the F1 teams for prize money.

I list below the additional income a team can get by improving their position in the WCC table by one place. All values are US Dollar Millions.

11th to 10th = $13.7m
10 to 9 = $3.4m
9 to 8 = $3.4m
8 to 7 = $3.4m
7 to 6 = $6.8m
6 to 5 = $3.4m
5 to 4 = $3.4m
4 to 3 = $6.8m
3 to 2 = $10.2m

Mercedes can catch Ferrari, so that's the only interesting thing left.

The battle for second place between alonso, kimi and hamilton is also interesting

Ferrari have gone backwards lately, which is very unusual for them, I can't remember that happening in recent years, they can normally manage the improvements from season start to finish.

Perhaps it rained heavily at their, "media days"?

I am starting to think that the problem lies more with Fernando Alonso who for the past two seasons has become beatable by Massa as we get to seasons end.

As Martin Brundle said in Japan during qualifying, "I am beginning to think Ferrari are losing the wrong man"
