Based on last nights performance have Nireland fans changed their minds. I've even seen a Facebook page set up with the sole purpose of having him sacked.
Well seems like ol Nigel got it right last night.
He picked Mc Court a player who he knew would be able to run rings around such a weak side. And it paid off big time. Nothing scares a back 4 more than having a player who is very comfortable on the ball running at them for 90 minutes. Just aks the lads i play 5 a side against on Tuesday nights!!
In contrast out in the Faroes , NIreland spent too much time sending crosses into the box for Lafferty . A lot of these crossed were just mopped up by the Faroes defenders or rather just hoofed back up the field.
I think picking Healy was the one mistake Worthington made. Surely he could have gone with someone like Jamie Ward instead.
Nigel Out campaign??

"Our squad is good enough to finish top 2 that should be his objective" - rubbish . Thats a ridiculous statement.
Fair enough your group has turned out to be weaker than it looked at the start of the campaign.
Neither or Slovenia are the great sides everyone had them down us but NIreland just do not have the quality within the side at the moment to be considered good enough to qualify.

We have at least 5 prem quality players... Same can't b said for other teams. Serbia are slightly better than us as a team. 3rd place would be satisfactory 2 satisfactory campaigns = change of manager!

5 premership quality players is not enough to be able to qualify for tournaments in my opinion.
Yes your full starting 11 is definitely a good experienced side who will always make life difficult for most opponents but you have to admit outside your first 11 there are some shocking players.
Surely even the most partizan NIreland fan can see that. Just look at your results in the Carling Nations Cup for example

Well i would still prefer to see Nigel leave after this campaign, we can't pretend that a 4-0 win over the Faroes is enough to keep you in a job. He's just too defensive and doesn't go for it the same that Lawrie did and that's what saw us beat teams like England and Spain. Cheers Nigel but move on. Bring in Ian Holloway.

Not to mention he is partly to blame for loads of players defecting to NI. Duffy, Ferguson, McClean etc.

Ian Holloway In your dreams!!!! How could the cash strapped IFA possibly afford his wages!!

It may have been a bit of wishful thinking on my part cause the IFA always want a Northern Irish manager but I'm sure he'd be happy to come to our wee country, him or Jose
