AND LET IT SINK IN.
Taken from the Western Sydney Wanderers web site,
"Red & Black active area.
The red & Black active area is an area designed for
active supporters who are extra passionate and vocal in support of the Wanderers. By purchasing tickets into this area you may be required to
participate in active supporter activities.
Fans in the red & Black active area will stand for the duration of the match."
Saturday the 16th of this month, they are at home to Melbourne Victory.
I'm after being at this match..
I hope to join in the pre match 'march' to the ground (This week against Adelaide Utd..Mark Bosnic lead the way !) It's a night game, 7:30 kick off,
I expect there will be a good few flares on the night,
As yet I can't make sense of the pre-booking system, simply because it quotes $2.05 cents for adults in this bloc behind the goals ?
even if it's 20 bucks fifty, what's that, about 12 quid ?
Great value for a Friday night out at the Footy
I will be making comparisons & post an honest report.
But on face value & evidence, This is a club doing it right.
How good would it be to see that 1st paragraph posted in the home programme before the Brum game !
Bosnic also commented on todays footy show, How impressed he was with the home crowd last night (Wanderers v Adelaide), & how they lifted the team to come from 1-0 behind & go on to win 2-1..
That from an ex- pro footballer !
It would seem it does make a difference
Bit of a 'trek' .
but roll on the 16th
(come on Clibbins. I'm doing your donkey work here. You're LAZY)
Read this !

I half agree with your comments Jacko, but Rugby League fans show us that blokes of all ages with different club allegiances can happily mix freely at a sporting event. What's more, they can drink whilst spectating and aside from maybe Leeds & Hull supporters, they don't run amok when they're on the end of a bad result.
I've been to a few of the Super League Grand Finals and the atmosphere both inside and outside Old Trafford can best be described as "carnival". You'll see fans of Cas & Wakefield, Leeds & Bradford, Wigan & Saints, all drinking and chatting away as if they're long lost brothers.
Even Fulham have a mixed stand, and as far as I'm aware they have fewer incidents and arrests than some of your more notorious clubs. So it CAN be done.
I feel if you treat football fans as humans and not caged animals, in most cases they'll respond in kind. It's too easy to point at history and say "no, never", but I believe as a nation we've grown up a lot. We've learned to accept other cultures and social groups much more than we did pre-1980s. I'd love to see more clubs adopt Fulhams approach as I have a feeling we'd be pleasantly surprised

There are plenty of sports where 'hooliganism' never got a foothold...Rugby (both codes), Cricket...even though plenty of the same people went ..
It became a 'craze', then it went out of fashion..now it's over..but, it isn't is it. We're never allowed to forget those dark days..even though there is more trouble per head down town on a saturday night.
All it takes is little incidents like I'm hearing from Wigan, with town fans ripping seats out and causing bother on the train...that will kill standing terraces, and in fact any removal of the security restrictions we have already...
Isolated incident, yes...but it will be logged, reported and used now for the next 20 years..
Well done them lads who decided to have a bit of 'fun'.

That's not good to hear. Hope they get brought to book.

I was sat near some of the idiots yesterday. An oldish fella, got called an "old t wat" and rightly took offence.
He then stood up to the fella, so did his son, (both big lads) next time I looked there was about 6 burberry clad thugs around them!
Town fans on town fans
The stewards and police intervened, but all the through the match these fuc wits glared @ the two fellas.
Not very nice to witness.

You'd think after the unsavoury incident at Old Trafford these "fans" would wake up and smell the coffee. They can f-ck off and "support" Leeds as far as I'm concerned, probably even get a pat on the back for behaving like that....

Well !
Who'd a thought it ?
Western Syd Wanderers v Melbourne Victory..........
SOLD OUT !!
That's as is 5th of the 10th.
Some clarification, The $2:05 cents entry fee was correct !!! For admission into the Red & Black Bloc section....for seson ticket holders only, or as I thought, 20 bucks for non members there after,
(No wonder it's sold out - the whole ground mind, not just that section !!!)
I'm still trying.
My only hope now, A direct call to the club & hope that they may have some complementary type allocation set aside for inter staters !
I've already booked flights
So at this stage, I'll only be able to give a 1st hand 'report' on the pre game build up & 'march'.
(voice of reason)
A few who read this will think you're a right muppet Darn, booking flights to a game you can't see,
Seems a long way to go just to see if an atmosphere at a game lives up to your expectations...
Look, you've missed the whole point if you're thinking along those lines 'voicy'.
I want to see 1st hand how they can do the things they do, reality..week in week out, & what the experience is like, If it resembles the hype, It will be an enjoyable night out.
This club is barley 3 years old ! Selling out a 20 thou+ stadium, and has a pound for pound Fan base equal if not better than Boca Juniors.
I want to see how & why they can do it, & 'htfc-inc' can't or won't.
Your crackers Darn.
I couldn't be bothered to do all that, ...or care less.
Town's my team, I don't give a stuff how or what other teams do..
'Voicy'. Well said mate.
You have confirmed what I have suspected all along.
You are indeed a 'true Town fan'
You're not related to either Foggy, Compo or Clegg then

$195 for a season ticket in the RBB active area ..
then $2:05 cents per game after that !!
= $17 per game over the season
bargain.

That is cheap...just a shade over £10 on today's exchange rate.
The thing I like most about these deals is it includes local Goverment transport in the ticket prices to get to and from the ground.

I'm on with it Wakey..
Still trying to get a ticket 'somehow'.
Other areas of the ground (I'm pretty sure it's Paramatta Eels home ground) seem to work out at about 20 bucks a game (adult's) ..again, pretty good for regular fans.
btw.
Are you coming out for the Cricket this time ?
Get in touch if you do
