I said after the Yeovil game if we win three of the next four we would be promotion contenders, so far we have won two in a row this month and we are already in playoff zone. Still bi early to judge how things will turn out, but have we hit a genuine consistency or could this be another false dawn ?

We ain't promotion or play off contenders. We've barely beat yeovil, and we've only beat Charlton and 10 man boro..... We'll struggle over xmas, Forest, Watford, Blackpool, Wigan all better than us. Were 2/3 quality players away from promotion candidates, still need a quality striker to score 10 next side of Xmas to boost McCormack who goes quite occasionally, still need two pacey wingers and a class centre mid

We are promotion contenders. Simple as that.
Every team around us knows that too.
A couple of additions in the January window would be welcome, oiking out some of the also rans would also help.
But just look at Pugh, he's been constantly abused on here (by some!) and yet he's played a couple of games and now those same folk are now praising him. Even Brown is getting favourable comments.
I'm just glad we don't have any fickle fans...?
We still need width and we still need guile.
We will need some luck for ourselves and we will need some bad luck to affect others, but we are definitely there on merit and we're better than the perennially gloomy think we are.
We also have a manager that knows what he is doing and who is motivating the players in the right way.
Onwards and upwards.
MOT.

People like to moan Tall, some will do all they can to discredit a win, it's getting tedious!
We are quite close to having a side good enough for the playoffs, 1 maybe 2 players away from being a very good side.

We have more, because of the law of averages. We have more posters so it follows we'll have more moaners.
I'm just surprised it has taken so long for folk to realise it.

Ross, Austin, Byram, Mowatt, Blackstock (whilst here) (or of course, a replacement for him of equal quality after his loan) are our key players, (and big Zal may muscle his way into this group, hopefully). If they can all avoid serious injury and play to near their best each game, we have a good chance of top 6. Add some attacking flair out wide to enable a Plan B and slot someone better than Murphy in the middle, and we could even close the gap on the top 3.
If we win 3, lose 2, every 5 games for remaining 30, we make play-offs comfortably

I'd be happy if we made 1 good signing in January, just to compliment our squad. And obviously no key players leaving!
Also Shaun, I'll point out we barely beat Yeovil after they beat Forest, what was it, 4-0?
Anybody can beat anybody in this league and you shouldn't write any team off.

Quick, quick RSL has put out a similar thread.....!
