This was a game that had 0-0 written all over it for most of the time and one goal was always likely to be enough to win it. Not a thriller but Wolves seemed largely comfortable but gave a few free kicks away just outside their own area and eventually one too many. But it was a day when we created little going forward with Jacobs and Sako tucking in rather than playing wide and not finding much space on a narrow pitch as a result.
Ikeme - didn't have a lot to do but I thought he might have better covered the side of the goal where the free kick was driven in. It went low through two posh players on the end of the wall and that was always where if was going to be aimed
Ricketts - steady game and a couple of good runs forward
Batth - excellent again today with some key interventions
Stearman - not quite as good as in recent games and dived in to give the vital free kick away and conceded a few more as well
Golbourne - steady as usual
Jacobs - not as good as in the week and held onto the ball too long a few times when running at their defence
Edwards - worked hard and had a reasonable game
McDonald - Wolves best player by a mile on the day. Ran the midfield in possibly his best game so far for us
Sako - one or two good moments including a great volley across the goal 2nd half that the keeper did well to hold but generally at his most frustrating
Griffiths - lively enough but little created for him on the day
Doyle - not an effective day for him. Played deeper behind Griffiths and never as good there as pushing up on the back line of defence.
Sigurdarson - got another chance from the bench but apart from one decent run down the left when he won a corner, the game passed him by again
Cassidy - puts himself about more than Siggy and you do get the feeling that if he could get a confidence boosting goal there is hope for him yet
Ismail - came on for Jacobs but never really got into the game
A Posh Review

Hey, you just made the rules.
I have never had an issue with solbakken getting a lot of blame for our relegation

I am also aware of the large part McCarthy played in our relegation.
So in short, both are to be blamed a plenty for each relegation.
Nothing hypocritical, just no blind loyalty either.

But nothing proved - which is the bit you can't understand.
Now you know why some think you and WITTS are the same person.

as we agree that solbakken also cannot be remotely linked to wolves relegation

Do you ever have the faintest idea what you are talking about?

Cinci and Wolfie have a vendetta - maybe coincidental seeing as they're both in the USA, and have to toe the line, now their stance is clear.
They take more pleasure criticising Wolves, than giving plaudits, and 95% of proper fans have now sussed that out.
The club, although appreciating any purchase of mercandise, should they use the facility, would prefer to see the back of them, I'm sure. Who need enemies when you have friends like that?!

Yes, very much so.
I have never had a problem with Solbakken being blamed, then you dropped the bombshell that if you are sacked 2 thirds into the season you are not responsible at all.
Heres my view, we can copy and paste this in future.
I think Mick let us down badly in season 3 in the prem, despite the money spent over 3 transfer windows we had not improved at all, 15 points from his last 23 games was simply not good enough.
I think Micks transfer dealings in the Prem were terrible, of the 23 or so players signed, Doyle, Fletcher and Hahnemann are the only ones who can be claimed to have made an impression(maybe i am missing one of the top of my head).
I think Mick did an incredible job with us early doors and even in his first season in the prem, i did not want mick sacked til it was November of the third season.
I think Stale made numerous errors whilst at Wolves, not getting rid of the players who had lost any desire to wear a wolves shirt the worst of them.
I will defend Stale when i hear ludicrous suggestions that he is a terrible manager, he clearly is not, a terrible manager would not win ANY division title ANYWHERE and would not get amazing results in Europe every season.
Hope that helps

Losing to non-league Luton deflates your argument, but you're still entitled to it.
Maybe you can blame ex-manager Mick, (currently back at a higher level), for that debacle?

Losing to non league Luton is neither here nor there, McCarthy lost several games to lower tier opposition i would imagine.
As for higher level, i don't think many consider the champo to be higher than the Campions league, not to mention beating one of last years quarter finalists and drawing with one of last seasons quarter finalist

Higher level to where we now sadly find ourselves.
