Ramsey vs Gerrard and Lampard

Interesting stat I came across on twitter yesterday apparently neither Gerrard or Lampard have scored more than 12 goals in open play in the league (Excluding Pens)

Lampard's highest score was in 09/10 where he scored 27 goals in 51 apps (22 in the league)

Lampard apparently scored 10 pens (Madness)

Gerrard's highest score was in 08/9 he scored 24 goals in 44 apps (16 in the league)

Ramsey has 8 goals in 13 apps in the league, overall total of 13 in 22 apps

Ramsey could he beat Lampard's record this season without scoring pens and deflections?

Remarkable really when you consider Gerrard/Lampard were hitting their peak when they scored those amount of goals at 27,28

Ramsey is 22 goodness me he could break all sorts of records for a midfielder, his professionalism, fitness levels will ensure he'll have a long successful career imo.

At the risk of going way over the top, I think that Ramsey could become the most important person in the history of the human race - who else has been able to run box-to-box for 90 minutes, score quality goals and show the class and respect he did yesterday, all while having excellent hair. If there eventually has to be a supreme leader of earth, why not Ramsey?

Without going over the top I genuinely think ramsey can become the best midfielder of all time

-----------------

I think "without going over the top" is just like "I don't mean to be rude" or "with respect" in that whatever follows inevitably contradicts it.

Without going over the top I genuinely think ramsey can become the best midfielder of all time, when you have no weaknesses and almost infinite ability you have to ask why not

Just from the last 20 years, he'll have to outdo Scholes, Keane, Zidane, Xavi, Iniesta, Xabi Alonso, Pirlo, Seedorf, Davids, Lampard and Gerrard, to name but a few.

oh fluck me here we go

after 8 years of winning fluck all and never looking like we would win fluck all we finally hit a bit of form with everybody finally playing with a purpose and all of a sudden we have the best midfield player that has ever laced a pair of boots -

lets have a bit of balance , lets win the prem first before we start throwing hypothetical meaningless accolades at one of our players just because he has scored a few this season -

Without going over the top, I think Aaron has already had a more successful career than people like Gerrard and Lampard.
