FFS, Man City finished 3rd last season not joint 2nd.

SECOND - CHELSEA PLD 38 PTS 71 GD +36
THIRD - MAN CITY PLD 38 PTS 71 GD +27
look at the gd bit. it states you scored less goals and conceded more than chelsea which means you came third and not second

either way it doesnt matter 2nd 3rd 4th whatever the only position that counts is number 1, fighting for second is sad

Wrong, we conceded the same number of goals as Chelsea and we both conceded fewer than United.
2 Chelsea 38 21 8 9 69 33 +36 71
3 Manchester City 38 21 8 9 60 33 +27 71

Boris
they still scored more which means you came third and united doesnt matter they finished with more points

I'm not disputing that but we didn't concede more as you rashly claimed.

You seem to have missed the whole reasoning behind why Lee claimed we finished joint 2nd. Try reading the thread again from the top, we KNOW we had an inferior goal difference to Chelsea, the point hw was trying to make was that we were level on points with Chelsea and therefore also ran man u close if thats what the pundits claim Chelsea did. Of course we know that statistically we actually finished third on goal difference he was simply pointing out that we were as close to catching man u as Chelsea were (which was 9 points away and not really close anyway)
